Everyone know that it’s hard to replicate Eddie Van Halen’s guitar playing and sound. “I’m the One” from the debut album is particularly hard to play. It’s swing feel is something most people will lack and Eddie’s blistering solos and licks are all the way through it. And let’s not forget the tone!
Jacob Deraps came up with a new recording of his favorite song where you can hear his guitar track all by itself.
“I was messing with my new amp yesterday and decided to record a sound clip of my favorite song “I’m the One” to show the Van Halen tone I can get from it. This was recorded with no click track or backing track, all you hear is me playing the song.”
Jacob is now endorsed by Germino Amplification and is playing through his brand new Germino Lead 55 1968 Plexi replica in this clip.
“This amp is a beast, I will do a real demo video of the amp soon to show a variety of tones I can get with it and I also have some new covers on their way. Hope you enjoy this one in the meantime!”
He tells VHND readers, “It’s always an honor for me to be feature on the number one website of my favorite band, this is my 4th time now and I am very thankful to VHND for making it happen again! Hope you all enjoy the video, there is more to come!
Keep up with Jacob with his Facebook and YouTube channel. VHND will exclusively premiere Jacob’s upcoming Van Halen cover soon!
