Make America ’80s Again

by VHND — updated August 10, 2020 Leave a Comment

"When I die, sprinkle my ashes over the '80s." - DLR The '80s was a fun, carefree decade that was all about hairspray, spandex, and rockin' music that still brings back childhood memories.  What was the soundtrack to your life? Your drive to school? Your first kiss? Your high school years? Road trip weekends?  No rock band exemplifies the best of ‘80s “Big Rock” and … [Read more...]

by VHND — updated August 7, 2020 Leave a Comment

Guitarist Charlie Stinchcombe (aka “Liquid Charlie”) has done a "one-take spontaneous jam" of the Eddie Van Halen track, "Donut City." "Donut City" is a song written by Eddie Van Halen that was released on the soundtrack for "The Wild Life." It's one of the only studio-recorded EVH instrumentals that was never released on a VH album, so it's pretty rare. Charlie says, … [Read more...]

Tawny Kitaen was doing cartwheels for Van Halen long before Whitesnake. In fact, she still is. "I'd like to see somebody tell me that Van Halen isn't the greatest rock band in the world," said Kitaen during her recent appearance on rock journalist Mitch Lafon's podcast "Rock Talk with Mitch Lafon". Kitaen said she toured with Van Halen's original lineup for three years … [Read more...]

by VHND — updated July 28, 2020 Leave a Comment

Not many people are aware that Eddie Van Halen joined Patty Smyth's band, Scandal, on stage in 1984. Eddie Van Halen and his then-wife Valerie Bertinelli were good friends with Patty Smyth as Scandal was still riding a wave of popularity after 'The Warrior' became a Top 10 hit song. Patty Smyth Regrets Turning Down Offer To Join Van Halen

by Eric Senich — updated November 30, 2021 Leave a Comment

Regrets. She’s had a few. Not being lead singer of Van Halen is one of them. Patty Smyth has enjoyed a successful career as both the singer of Scandal (“The Warrior”, “Goodbye To You”) and later as a solo artist (“Sometimes Love Just Ain’t Enough”) but she could have added another major accomplishment to that list. Back in 1985 Eddie Van Halen and wife Valerie Bertinelli … [Read more...]

by Eric Senich — updated July 26, 2020 Leave a Comment

If you’re wondering whether Van Halen will ever tour again don’t ask David Lee Roth. Wolfgang Van Halen made that very clear.
