Eddie Van Halen on the set of Shades of Elvis by photographer Christopher Ameruoso & Priscilla Presley.

The above photo is an outtake from the ‘Shades of Elvis’ photo shoot Eddie Van Halen took part in today. We hear that the shots are amazing, and we can’t wait to see the final shot selected for the book.

Shades of Elvis is an upcoming photo book that will feature a variety of the world’s biggest music stars paying special homage to Elvis Presley. More than 70 celebrities will be included, wearing/posing with a pair of Elvis’s personally owned and worn sunglasses.

Shades of Elvis is a collaboration between photographer Christopher Ameruoso and Presley’s ex-wife, Priscilla. The book will be released late November 2013. (UPDATE: The new release date for the book in January 2014). Hard cover and E-book versions will be available.

Along with EVH, some other famed music artists include: Robert Plant, Elton John, Tom Jones, Snoop Dogg, Alice Cooper, Lita Ford, Steven Tyler, ZZ Top‘s Billy Gibbons, Celine Dion, Gene Simmons, Willie Nelson, Johnny Depp, Def Leppard, Sammy Hagar, and many more.

Among the other celebs that have been snapped for Shades of Elvis are Johnny Depp, Buzz Adlrin, Pamela Anderson, Tim Burton, Peter Fonda, Carmen Electra and John Stamos. Mike Tyson, Charlie Sheen, Juliette Lewis, and Tony Hawk.

Ameruoso has been posting updates about the various luminaries he’s been photographing for the project since he started it in early 2012.
