June 22nd, 2009 at 2:39 pm
Awesome, the crowd is really digging the Foot!!!
June 22nd, 2009 at 4:00 pm

June 22nd, 2009 at 4:26 pm

June 22nd, 2009 at 5:21 pm
This whole chickenfoot thing might be for real.
June 22nd, 2009 at 7:24 pm
Great album! Now Let’s see what Dave and Eddie got to offer.
June 22nd, 2009 at 8:03 pm
For all the people that didn’t believe…open mouth, insert FOOT!!
June 22nd, 2009 at 8:47 pm

AWESOME.
June 22nd, 2009 at 9:12 pm
these boy’s still kick major ass.
June 22nd, 2009 at 9:37 pm
This is shit!!! Remember all you 1 2 and 3 Chickenfooters out there, this is called a festival!!! There’s a host of other bands on the same bill that the crowd cam to see as well!! I’ve been to some of those european festivals, they go for days through the euro summer, there would be maybe 30 to 40 bands/artist one whole day!!!
As for what Dave & Eddie are doing? Eddie is getting married this weekend, Wolfie passed school with flying colours, Alex blesses us all and Diamond Dave is plotting and planning!!! The more Chickentfoot news we get on this Van Halen site, the bigger & better Van Halen’s new album is sounding!!!!
June 22nd, 2009 at 10:05 pm
I lived in Europe for 3 years. The summer festivals are great. I went to Roskilde in DK. Austria is just a nice place with great Beer and where topless women sunbathing is the norm.
The foot has landed and is kicked ass. Foot in your ASS baby!!
^^^!
June 22nd, 2009 at 11:46 pm
wow! looks like a great time!
June 22nd, 2009 at 11:50 pm
What’s that matter woz, feeling threatened? Sure, this crowed might be there for any number of bands (even Chickenfoot, imagine that…) but they still seem to be digging the Foot. In fact, lets imagine for one minute that none of them came to see CF - take a look at the clip again. How much fun is that non CF crowd having? If there’s not one CF fan in that crowd it says even more about how good the Foot are. Oops, as Michael says, “open mouth, insert FOOT!!”
June 22nd, 2009 at 11:59 pm
woz woz woz, whaaa! whaaa! whaaa! take it easy brother. we all hope for a great van halen return. but it’s okay to show some excitement for the FOOT…then again maybe i should apologize for liking any other band besides VH.
June 23rd, 2009 at 1:14 am
Yeah guys get excited. It’s a festival, people are there for a couple of days to party, so anything that rocks more that the Bee Gees will get people moving. And OMG there he is again, Sammy the fat clown in Capri shorts. Didn’t “Mikey” say there wouldn’t be Capri shorts in CF?
June 23rd, 2009 at 6:02 am
I’ve been to festivals too. As was the band, so was the crowd. If the band was manure, the crowds left in droves to go drop a deuce. <> But if the band rocked, the crowds all stayed and did exactly what we see happening in the video above. Can’t wait ’till CF comes to the states.
June 23rd, 2009 at 7:25 am
Rick and Woz, Where did Van Halen play this weekend? I cant remember. I’m sure ther were tons of people there though. Sammy is 61 and in far better shape that wolfgang who is supposed to be in the physical prime of his life.
June 23rd, 2009 at 8:10 am
Hey swade!
I guess your some new kid on the block? Where did Van Halen play this weekend you kindly asked?
Lesson No. 1 my stupid apprentice!!
VAN HALEN PLAY EVERY WEEKEND!!! E.g. CLUBS, PARTIES, WEDDINGS etc, their music lives on, it’s the ultimate soundtrack of our lives’!!! Want to liven up the party or special event? Then slam on some Van Halen music (VH/Dave era of course!) and ‘Dance the night Away!!!’
As for what’s its name? Oh I already forgot…Chickentfoot, right? Yeah that’s its name, so easy to forget. Sorry please forgive me, you forgive me? I keep getting confused; I keep referring to a band name like that as a value meal from KFC!!! Have a pleasent day!!
June 23rd, 2009 at 10:08 am
looks great, but…could it be a bit LOUDER pleeese !!!
June 23rd, 2009 at 11:32 am
I love the Foot-album, but it is weaker than all the Sammy-era Van Halen studio albums.
Still good to see Chickenfoot rocking Europe
June 23rd, 2009 at 11:59 am
Regarding the size of the crowd, I think Woz was mainly responding to the fanbois getting overly excited over the huge audience by pointing out — correctly I might add — that this was a huge festival, where Chickenfoot is one of many bands on the bill and not even a headliner.
I think that was directed at comments like:
Vancionado: “Nah… they’ll never attract a following.”
Andy: “Wow I knew Joe was big there but holy crap !!”
Michael: “For all the people that didn’t believe…open mouth, insert FOOT!!”
I think Woz had a valid point.
Still, the way Chickenfoot had that crowd worked up is impressive. (Although, I’d be more impressed if the clip was longer and showed similar reactions throughout the show and not just one 39-second burst.)
Swade’s comment is just plain ridiculous all the way around.
June 23rd, 2009 at 12:22 pm
If you look real close, you can see some of the guys in the crowd sing “arriba riba.”
That’s so cool.
June 23rd, 2009 at 12:40 pm
Rick and Woz: what narrow points of view and shallow minds you both possess! I’m certain most people could understand (and you might have even started a worthy forum) if you were to state that you preffered certain songs on the new Chickenfoot album to others. However, your impish posts offer zero value to substantiate anything you say.
There never will be a concesus as to what the best VH was. There were certainly high points to each. Hell, even the miserable effort with Gary Cherone produced a worthy song or two. To not admit that reality, leaves me with the inclination that your music library may just consist of the first six Van Halen albums.
Your feeble attempts to denegrade what is an impressive new band of talented musicians (with a pretty damn good stable of songs) goes even further to illustrate your lack of musical knowledge, for which your rights to post here should be revoked.
Here’s a news flash: there are thousands of bands that make, or have made great music. Perhaps we can pitch in and put together a list of suggestions these two might want to give a listen.
I’ll start with Led Zeppelin. True, they didn’t have EVH or DLR in them, but I’m sure they don’t suck.
June 23rd, 2009 at 1:16 pm
I am a huge VH fan and I like the “the foot” it’s something different.
June 23rd, 2009 at 1:17 pm
I am so freaking tired of this CF vs VH Bull S**T. SO WHAT if CF did good or not in that festival. Isn’t this site for the people who love Van Halen? Let’s talk about VH… A few thoughs:
1) I am very sorry for Mikey, but he is NOT in Van Halen anymore - Give it a rest people. MA himself doesn’t want to talk about it anymore. What kind of crap is MA = VH anyway? Yeah, yeah.. Great background vocals, solid bass lines.., but he is not in VH anymore. Let’s praise him somewhere else besides VHND
2) I think is great that MA and SH have found other things to do - could somebody please create a CF news desk so that CF lovers can find out about their band and comment.
3) Since when is this a competition? I have read people pointing out record sales, #1 hits, billboard position, age, and even physical condition and appearance to claim one is better than the other. PLEASE - grow up. Again…this is VHND, let’s talk about CF on the CFND.
4) I have heard Eddie play with DLR, SH, Gary Cherone, Michael Jackson, Nicollette Larson, and many others. IT WAS ALL GREAT AND EXTRAORDINARY!!! For the time being, and as far as we know, the current line up still is EVH, AVH, WVH, and DLR - (NO ONE ELSE), and I am sure that when they decide to treat us with new music, it will also be great, and for that… I will keep waiting - no more no less.
June 23rd, 2009 at 1:47 pm
OK! Lets end this all now. Lets just lobby the Van Halens to get Mark Stone back on Bass and Mitch Malloy on vocals and see what they come up with!
June 23rd, 2009 at 1:57 pm
Cheers JAG
June 23rd, 2009 at 2:20 pm
yep, you’re right rick! mike said there would be know shorts in chickenfoot just like ed said there would not be another singer after gary cherone…
June 23rd, 2009 at 3:06 pm
Well spoken David, well spoken!!!! The truth hurts don’t it Rick and woz?
June 23rd, 2009 at 3:55 pm
You know what cracks me up. Here is a band that is all Van Halen news worthy ( read the title of the website Geniuses ) and they are producing something in the interim while we wait for Van Halen to release their new material and people get all bent out of shape and get their panties in a bunch because theres no VH news. Its kind of like baseball and football season. Thank God they happen at different times because otherwise there wouldn’t be shit for sports..or snow boarding and surfing for example…winter-summer…water-snow…Van Halen-Chickenfoot….Different trees in as different forest. But at least there are trees…get it?……Probably not.
June 23rd, 2009 at 6:57 pm
Brava, Push! Brava!! What a fine example of someone with their head fitted squarely on their shoulders and not planted elsewhere.
Jag, you are on to something with your thoughts too. However, shouldn’t newsworthy items from a founding member (or one with a significant contribution)of VH be appropriate here? Recalling the days when the band’s second singer was on duty, there were many, many posts regarding the first when he ran off to join the circus. I think most fans (like me) were interested in what he was up to, and even enjoyed some his offerings though no longer a member of VH.
Take a walk through the forrest, enjoy the trees!
June 24th, 2009 at 5:03 pm
i am looking foward to a new van halen album but it is fun to see the hardcore dave roth fans spinning because they wanted this to fail so much.
June 24th, 2009 at 6:47 pm
Jag,
If you only want to see Van Halen news go to:
http://www.vhnd.com/category/van-halen/
The VHND had been kind enough to categorize everything.
Use that link instead and we won’t have to hear anymore whining from you.
We’re ALL Van Halen fans, but still ok to support the Van Halen Alumni in their new efforts too!
When Van Halen has some new music next year we’ll ALL be happy, but in the meantime, we like the Chickenfoot licks too!
June 25th, 2009 at 3:18 am
David - “There never will be a consensus as to what the best VH was.” Saying something like this shows you are a complete donk and don’t even deserve arguments. I’m not even implying that all Van Haggar material was crap, and of course it’s a matter of taste if you like cheesy rock ballads, but there can really be no serious discussion about VH 1978-84 being superior in every respect, musically, sonically, in virtuosity, artistically, in showmanship, in simply every way one can think of. If you dont comprehemd this, it cant really be explained to you. Chickenfoot on the other hand is just a lame duck.
June 25th, 2009 at 10:09 am
Rick, my apologies for being so hard on you in my first post. I didn’t realize pointing out how boorish your diatribes are, would provoke you to the new low of name calling. True, I did imply you were “narrow minded,” but obviously, I gave you far, far too much credit. Congratulations on your ascension to the third grade. I foresee plenty of time outs for you.
June 25th, 2009 at 12:02 pm
Rick and Dave sound like they belong in Van Halen with this kind of drama! LOL!
June 25th, 2009 at 12:42 pm
Touche!
