Live from the Cabo Wabo! Sammy’s Birthday Bash is underway at the Cabo Wabo Cantina in Cabo San Lucas for four incredible nights on October 7th, 9th, 11th, and 13th (his birthday).
The band this year is Sammy, Michael Anthony, Vic Johnson, Kenny Aronoff, and several other talented musicians. Each year, the birthday bashes are an open invitation to all of Sammy’s friends, so there are always surprises to the lineup – announced and unannounced. This year’s special guests (so far) include Phil X (Bon Jovi), Jerry Cantrell (Alice in Chains), Belinda Carlisle (The Go-Go’s), Steve Nowicki (The Howard Stern Show), Joey Belladonna (Anthrax), and Deen Castronovo (Journey).
It must have been a huge surprise for the audience when Sammy announced, “How could I not pay homage to the man who co-wrote this next badass song we’re about to play? …Happy birthday to fellow Libra, David Lee Roth!” Watch the video of Sammy singing Happy Birthday to DLR, and many other highlights, embedded below.
