Sammy Hagar and his band headlined last night’s set at the Stagecoach Festival in Indio, California. You can watch the full set – professionally taped – in the video below.
From Stagecoach, Hagar will head to Las Vegas with his current road band — guitarist Joe Satriani, drummer Kenny Aronoff, and former Van Halen bassist Michael Anthony — to launch a residency at the Park MGM casino. Their first concert there takes place this Wednesday, April 30th.
Note that the Stagecoach gig clocked in at just over an hour, which is far shorter than the complete set the band will perform during their Las Vegas residency. Those shows should feature roughly an hour’s worth of additional songs, including the new song, “Encore, Thank You, Goodnight,” written in tribute to the late, great Edward Van Halen.
Sammy posted on his socials: ‘Stagecoach Festival turned out to be all and even more than what I expected. A huge audience ready to rock and we did just that! There were a lot of cowboy hat and boots out there, but they knew every lyric to every song. It was a blast – Mikey, Joe, Rai, and Kenny were on fire! One hour is not enough time to put a dent in my song catalog, but we cherry-picked it. Everyone seemed to be very happy including myself. “Encore, Thank You, Goodnight” music video got its worldwide debut immediately after our set on the big screen. It don’t get much better than that. See you in Vegas.’
