Veteran rock journalist Jas Obrecht has released the last of his six-part 1980 interview with Edward Van Halen. In it, Edward previews the yet-to-be-heard Women & Children First album!
“The section you’re about to hear now began about two hours and 10 minutes into our conversation,” said Obrecht. “Eddie had brought along a cassette of the upcoming Van Halen album Women and Children First and a portable cassette player. At this point in the interview, he popped in the cassette, hit play, and began making comments. If you listen carefully you can hear him explaining his strategies, techniques, equipment, and offering other observations. Eddie was the only one stopping and starting the cassette.
