Corey Glover Was Almost Van Halen’s Frontman: Fact or Rumor?

Corey Glover was once considered to become Van Halen’s frontman? Not so says Glover.

The Living Colour frontman debunked that rumor during a recent appearance on the Paltrocast.

“There was a rumor one time, when Van Halen was looking for a singer, that I was being considered. But no one called me about that. This was when Gary Cherone [became lead singer]… OK, I see what they were thinking, but no one’s ever called me to replace anybody.”

Glover, who also shot down the story that he was asked to replace Steven Tyler in Aerosmith in the early 2010s, says these kinds of rumors have come up often.

“I’ve heard these kind of things before,” said Glover. “It’s like, ‘They were thinking about you for this.’ It’s like, ‘Really? Nobody told me they were looking for me about this. They should have called me. I would have done it.'”

Would Glover have been a good fit for Van Halen if he had been offered the job? Let us know in the comments below!
