Big news again, today!
First, Hagar announced his ‘Best Of All Worlds’ Van Halen tribute tour on The Howard Stern Show last week (November 14th). His tour lineup features Michael Anthony, Joe Satriani, and Jason Bonham. During his appearance, he stated that both Alex Van Halen and Roth are welcome: “If Alex Van Halen wants to jump out, if David Lee Roth wants to come out and join us — come on motherfuckers, you are welcome. This is about Van Halen!” The following day, he appeared on Sirius/XM’s Trunk Nation and publicly invited Roth to join: “From the bottom of my heart, he would be so welcome.”
Then yesterday, we received an exclusive statement from David Lee Roth (who we hear never got a call from Hagar), intended for Hagar: “I’m ready to go. Let’s do this..”
Then today, Sammy was asked by a fan on Instagram to clarify his comments. The fan asked, “Diamond [Dave] says he’s ready to go on tour with you! What do you think about that?
Sammy answered, “He can come out and sing a song on a show or two if he can remember the words. He’s not invited on the tour NOOOO F***ing way. It was to sing a song with us somewhere like a lot of singers, guitarists, etc. are going to do on this tour. I know better than to have him on tour again. Been there done that.”
