Jeff Scott Soto Hints At Being The Singer For Michael Anthony’s New Band

by Eric Senich — updated March 26, 2023 Leave a Comment

Could Jeff Scott Soto be the singer of Michael Anthony’s new band? A recent social media post from Soto seems to suggest that he is.

On Wednesday (3/22), Anthony told SiriusXM’s Eddie Trunk that he had recently started a side project with Bon Jovi guitarist Phil X and current Aerosmith touring drummer John Douglas but didn’t name the singer.

“We do have a singer,” Anthony said. “I don’t wanna mention any names, but a really, really cool singer. And we’re recording just for fun right now, some stuff. That’s all I can say.”

On Friday night (3/24), however, Soto dropped a pretty big hint that he’s the singer Anthony was speaking of. Soto shared a screenshot of Blabbermouth’s coverage of the story with the following message: “Hmmm….ummm…no comment =)”. When one person asked Soto, “Who’s singer?”, his response was: “Read between the lines my friend.”

Soto has recorded and toured with Journey, Yngwie Malmsteen, Trans-Siberian Orchestra and Sons Of Apollo, among others.

Anthony performed Van Halen’s “Somebody Get Me A Doctor” with Phil X this weekend (3/25) in Costa Mesa, California as part of a fundraising concert for Save the Heartbeat. Check out the video below!
