We almost heard an Eddie Van Halen/Chris Cornell collaboration according to guitarist Pete Thorn.
During his recent appearance on “The Mitch Lafon and Jeremy White Show”, Thorn (Cornell, Don Henley, Melissa Etheridge) told White Eddie and Cornell became friends sometime in the late 90s, early 2000s. The two had often talked about working together as Eddie was a big fan of Cornell’s voice. While Thorn was recording music for Cornell’s 2009 album ‘Scream’, Cornell had the idea to ask Eddie to play on a song or two. They eventually drove up to Eddie’s 5150 studio to work on the music but, unfortunately, it was never completed.
