Watch the author give you a virtual tour of his two Van Halen hardcover coffee table books.
Legendary rock photographer Neil Zlozower has published two hardcover coffee table photo books on Van Halen (Van Halen: A Visual History, 1978-1984 & Eddie Van Halen) both of which are absolute must-have items for fans. Even if you own both books, you’ll love these two videos we made of Zloz (as his friends call him) guiding the viewer through a sampling of the books. These videos are your own personal sit-down with Neil—an intimate conversation with the author!
Ever wonder what it would have been like to be lucky enough to befriend Van Halen in the young and wild early days and hold on for the ride of your life? Well, Neil Zlozower had that thrill – he was part of their entourage in the heyday—and he captured it all on film! All those great shots – and HE WAS THERE! What an experience all that must have been. And it’s not just that he was there… he’s one of THE most accomplished rock ’n’ roll photographers ever. Thankfully, he worked hard to get these classic shots, and now he’s sharing them with fans through these books.
Watch the videos below and let Zloz guide you through a sampling of each book. It’s very cool to see him reminiscing over some of the shots.
Not only are these books photographic journeys through the early years of Van Halen, but Zloz has gathered testimonials from many of the biggest names in rock regarding their personal recollections of the impact Van Halen had on them. Come for the photos, but stay for the exclusive homages!
Where to get them:
Van Halen Store has been completely sold out of the Eddie book, but luckily, Zloz found one last box of that book in his studio. So the VHND wants to spread the word that this is people’s last chance to grab the Eddie book.
Both books are long since out-of-print and are true collector’s items. Both are in very low supply. Here’s where to get them:
Upcoming Book: Neil is working on his third Van Halen book, which Van Halen Store will carry. However, it’s not going to be released until later this year. More info on that book to come in the coming months.
