The Columbus, Ohio band South Of Eden released a rousing cover of Van Halen’s “Drop Dead Legs” on Eddie Van Halen’s birthday Wednesday (January 26).
“Today we commemorate the great Eddie Van Halen with a cover of one our favorite VanHalen songs,” the band posted to Facebook. “‘Drop Dead Legs’ is one of many VH songs where the riff, lyrics, and groove come together to form a sound signature to those 4 dudes jamming in a room. We miss you Eddie and happy birthday.”
The video below was directed by front-man Ehab Omran and edited by John Payne. It was made only streamable from the band’s YouTube and Facebook pages.
South of Eden (formerly Black Coffee) are: Ehab Omran [lead vocals, acoustic guitar], Justin Young [lead guitar, vocals], Tom McCullough [drums], and Nick Fratianne [bass].
