Musicradar Readers Vote Wolfgang Van Halen Among The World’s Best Rock Guitarists

by VHND — updated December 17, 2021 Leave a Comment

Wolfgang Van Halen was voted among the world’s best rock guitarists by readers of Musicradar.

The website devoted to musicians recently rounded up its year-end polls – from pop/funk to metal and progressive – to rank the ten best guitarists in rock today. Wolfgang came in at #7.

Here’s what Musicradar had to say about Wolfgang:

Following the illness and eventual untimely death of Eddie Van Halen in Autumn 2020, the young Van Halen threw himself into a solo album in the truest sense — writing and recording all the instruments on Mammoth WVH self-titled debut. He’s since fleshed out the band but the writing is deeply personal. Distance — a heart-on-its-sleeve gut-punch of grief —
floors us every time.

Musicradar’s “Best Rock Guitarists In The World” Rankings

  1. Jake Kiszka (Greta Van Fleet)
  2. Steve Vai
  3. Dave Grohl, Chris Shiflett, Pat Smear (Foo Fighters)
  4. Tom Morello
  5. Jerry Cantrell
  6. Peter Frampton
  7. Wolfgang Van Halen (Mammoth WVH)
  8. Neil Young
  9. Lindsey Buckingham
  10. J. Mascis (Dinosaur Jr)
