David Lee Roth made an appearance at the 2021 MTV Video Music Awards last night (September 12) at Barclays Center in Brooklyn, New York.
US Weekly caught up with Dave before the event. He revealed some interesting news including plans for a Las Vegas concert (or concerts?) later this year. He also dropped a few thoughts on Eddie and Alex Van Halen:
“Eddie Van Halen…He’s either in Heaven raisin’ Hell or he’s in Hell, consequently in Heaven! Read into that as you wish. Eddie would have me say it just like that,” said Roth. “I carry on that spirit deliberately.”
“I just spoke to Alex Van Halen,” Roth later said. “We’re about to celebrate our 50th year of raggin’ on eachother [laughs].”

AP Entertainment posted this clip of Dave on the red carpet. They wanted to know: “What’s the story behind the string around your neck?”
What’s the story behind the string around former Van Halen singer David Lee Roth’s neck? He says it’s not as sentimental as some have guessed. #VMAs pic.twitter.com/V0G72jjQka
