Nearly six months since its release, Mammoth WVH’s “Don’t Back Down” refuses to go down the charts. In fact, the song has just reached the top of the active rock radio chart.
“Don’t Back Down”, originally released on March 26th, 2021, passed Volbeat’s “Wait A Minute My Girl” to take the #1 spot on the chart tracked by Mediabase, the music industry service which monitors radio station airplay in 180 US and Canadian markets. The song garnered 1,774 spins during the August 29-September 4 tracking period, which bests last week’s sum by 10. Foo Fighters’ “Making A Fire” is at #2 with the aforementioned “Wait A Minute My Girl” at #3.
This is the second Mammoth WVH single to reach #1 with “Distance” reaching the top of the Billboard Mainstream Rock Airplay chart in February. “Don’t Back Down” had reached #2 on Billboard’s Mainstream Rock Airplay chart shortly after its release in March. The video for the song has since amassed over 2 million views on YouTube.
