Wolfgang Van Halen and his band Mammoth WVH took advantage of a night off between gigs opening for Guns N’ Roses with a performance at Cleveland’s House of Blues this past weekend. The band premiered three songs (including one brand new track), during what Wolfgang later called the band’s “best show yet”.
Saturday night’s show was Mammoth WVH’s third overall headlining gig and first since a pair of pre GN’R warm-up shows late last month. As Ultimate Classic Rock’s Matt Wardlaw reported, the band took advantage of the extra on-stage time by premiering three songs; one not included on Wolfgang’s debut Mammoth WVH album – “As Long As You’re Not You”. The other two debut songs came off of the album – “Feel” and “Horribly Right”. Below are all three songs uploaded to YouTube:

Wolfgang told UCR the day before the show that “Horribly Right” was one song he had been holding off on until he felt comfortable enough performing.
“There’s this one note that’s really hard and if I miss it, it will completely fuck the whole song up,” he said. “I think once we’re in the middle of the tour and I’m warmed up and I’m comfortable, we’ll be able to hit it.”
Wardlaw called Mammoth WVH’s 80 minute long performance the band’s “strongest showing” so far, noting that the near-capacity crowd knew the words to every song from the album and were singing along. Wolfgang agreed with Wardlaw’s review by tweeting that it was “the best show yet”.
