Ow, oh! Hey you! Who said that?! It’s Wild Bill McClintock and he’s back in town with another Van Halen mashup!
McClintock has a popular YouTube channel featuring several of his own personally crafted mashups from a slew of classic rock artists including a handful from Van Halen. His most recent may be his most unusual yet. He matched up David Lee Roth’s original vocal from Van Halen’s “Jump” with an instrumental version of country legend Hank Williams’ 1952 hit “Your Cheatin’ Heart”.
For the accompanying video, McClintock combined visuals of Roth singing “Jump” with footage of Hank Williams Jr (son of the original) performing “Your Cheatin’ Heart”. He titled the track Vank Walen – “Your Jumpin’ Heart”. The results are sure to elicit some strong reactions from both Van Halen and country purists. Even McClintock kiddingly warns fans in the video description: “DO NOT press play. This cannot be unheard. You’ve been warned.”
