Sammy Hagar & The Circle have announced they’ll be part of the first-ever Afterburner Music Festival in Southern California to be held on October 1st and 2nd. The show will be in celebration of Van Halen’s classic 1986 single “Dreams” along with the U.S. Navy Blue Angels, who starred in the song’s video (above).

Hagar and his bandmates Michael Anthony (bass), Jason Bonham (drums) and Vic Johnson (guitar) will perform on Friday night, October 1st at the festival, which will be held on Huntington Beach. Here is what Hagar posted to his official website redrocker.com:

CELEBRATING THE 75TH ANNIVERSARY OF THE BLUE ANGELS AND THE 35TH ANNIVERSARY OF VAN HALEN’S HIT SONG “DREAMS!”

Afterburner Music Festival is an EPIC two-night festival held right on the sand of one of Southern California’s best beaches. The first annual music fest kicks-off just following the Pacific Airshow, featuring the iconic Blue Angels, who famously starred in the music video for Van Halen’s hit song “Dreams.” You won’t want to miss these epic events as they turn up the music and turn on the afterburner!

Hagar is also inviting fans to Catalina as part of his annual week-long celebration of his 74th birthday. For the second straight year Hagar will celebrate his birthday in Catalina instead of his usual location – The Cabo Wabo Cantina in Cabo San Lucas, Mexico.

SAMMY HAGAR’S SOUTHERN CALIFORNIA CELEBRATION
SAMMY HAGAR & THE CIRCLE ARE BRINGING THE ANNUAL WEEK-LONG CABO PARTY TO SOUTHERN CALIFORNIA FROM OCTOBER 1ST TO OCTOBER 9TH!

Then grab one of 30 daily ferries and sail to the majestic shores of Catalina Island for a weekend-long concert party at Sammy’s annual BIRTHDAY BASH!

The Birthday Bash will take place October 7th, 8th and 9th at the Catalina Casino. The Thursday, October 7th show will be a special acoustic performance and Q&A with Sammy Hagar & The Circle.
