Sammy Hagar & Friends To Launch Las Vegas Residency This Fall [UPDATE: MORE SHOWS ADDED]

by VHND — updated July 1, 2021 Leave a Comment

Sammy Hagar will launch a Les Vegas residency this fall and some surprise special guests are expected to join the party.

Sammy Hagar and Friends will launch Halloween weekend in the Strat Theater with the first shows set for October 29 and 30 and November 5 and 6. The shows will feature Hagar and his Circle bandmates Michael Anthony, guitarist Vic Johnson, drummer Jason Bonham along with other surprise special guests.

“I’ve been searching the Las Vegas Strip trying to find the right room, ambience and partners to create a very special Cabo Wabo birthday bash-type environment for my band members and musician friends to create the ultimate party residency,” Hagar said in a statement.

The residency is the second show announced for the Strat Theater since the resort recently partnered with SPI Entertainment to operate the 600-seat venue.

“Sammy is one of the greatest rockers of all time and has some of the most devoted and passionate fans,” producer Adam Steck of SPI Entertainment said in a statement. “This is going to be an epic rock ‘n’ roll party experience with all of his hits from Montrose, Van Halen and his solo career. We couldn’t be more excited.”

UPDATE (7/1/21)

Hagar sold out his first four shows at The Strat Showroom before they were even on sale to the general public. Hagar’s Redheads fan club grabbed up all 3,200 available seats for the original four shows within two hours, after the tickets went on pre-sale Tuesday morning. As a result, Hagar has added Nov. 12-13 to his originally announced Oct. 29-30 and Nov. 5-6 weekends. That’s three weekends in a row. The new batch of tickets go on sale 10 a.m. Saturday at tickets.thestrat.com/sammyhagar. The showroom will carry a rock-club, full-party vibe, with an 800-person capacity. Tickets start at $100 (minus fees), with VIP meet-and-greet packages offered.

“Adding these shows so quickly makes me happier than anyone for the fans that didn’t get tickets the first time,” Hagar said in a statement. “This is exciting, we’re going to be doing this for a while.”

Hagar will open with his current band, The Circle, with bassist Michael Anthony and guitar great Vic Johnson. For the first two performances, Jason Bonham will be on drums. As for the expected “special guests”, Hagar’s wish list includes Kenny Chesney, Rick Springfield, Toby Keith, Vince Neil and Jerry Cantrell of Alice in Chains among others.
