Van Halen Teams Up With The Miracles In Smokin’ New Mashup

by VHND — updated April 10, 2021 Leave a Comment

Jump back, what’s that sound? It’s Van Halen with Smokey Robinson & The Miracles!

YouTuber Ray C Mashups has taken Van Halen’s “Panama” and The Miracles 1970 hit “The Tears Of A Clown” to come up with “Tears Of A Panama Clown”.

Along with the mashup, Ray has also created his own fictional story about David Lee “Smokey” Roth and his supergroup Van Miracles. Here’s what he posted along with the video:

“In 1984 anything seemed possible for ‘Diamond Dave’ David Lee ‘Smokey’ Roth. His supergroup Van Miracles was riding high on the charts with singles like ‘Jamie’s Crying the Tracks of My Tears’ and ‘I Second That Eruption’. But their biggest hit would be ‘Tears of a Panama Clown’, which spent an amazing 17 weeks at number one on the Billboard Top 100. Sadly, the wild ride wouldn’t last, as too much partying, massive egos, infighting and ‘Smokey’ Hagar tore the band apart. Still, it’s impossible not to smile or tap your feet while listening to their great ’80s Motown stadium pop metal soul classics like ‘Tears of a Panama Clown’, ‘Shop Around with the Devil’, and so many others.”
