‘Everything’s Alright’ With This Van Halen/Stevie Wonder Mashup

by Eric Senich — updated March 1, 2021 Leave a Comment

Mash-up maestro Bill McClintock has added yet another popular mashup to his catalog, this time a Van Halen/Stevie Wonder track titled “Chained Uptight.”

McClintock seamlessly mixed Van Halen’s 1981 classic “Unchained” with Wonder’s “Uptight (Everything’s Alright)” from 1965. It’s already amassed over 99,000 views on YouTube since it was uploaded less than a week ago.

McClintock talked about the process of creating a mashup during an interview with Mouthing Off Magazine last year.

“Trying to find two compatible songs takes a really long time,” he said. “I’ve done eighty or so mashups. You would think that the more you do, the easier it gets. However, I think that it has gotten more difficult – my standards are higher. It’s like you’re going fishing. You sit there all day, day after day you get nothing. But then once you’ve found that match, and they sound so good together, it makes it worth it, to the point where I want to keep doing it.”

Check out his other three Van Halen mash-ups linked below – they’re all genius!:

Celebrate with the Devil – Van Halen & Kool & The Gang Mash-up

‘Mean Machine’ – Van Halen & The Jackson 5 Mash-up
