It’s a MUST-SEE for everyone who loves rock ’n’ roll, and particularly rock photography. And the film not only includes never-before-seen early photos of Van Halen, but also features both Neil and former Van Halen bassist MICHAEL ANTHONY talking about the crazy early days on the road with Neil.
Over the years, famed photographer Neil Zlozower has given us all an inside view of of the rock ‘n’ roll lifestyle through his extraordinary photographs. It’s about time somebody turned the lens on “Zloz” himself.
Thankfully, this new documentary has done just that. We at VHND found “In Your Face – The Neil Zlozower Story” to be INCREDIBLY ENTERTAINING. This isn’t your typical staid documentary. This is a no-holds-barred rock ‘n’ roll spectacle that is totally hilarious and PURE FUN!
We’ve always said that Zloz one of the “fifth members of Van Halen” because of all the years he toured – and partied – with the band during the original David Lee Roth era. Most of the stunning and incredible live photos – not to mention myriad offstage antics – of Van Halen from the early days have come courtesy of Zloz’s talents and intimate access. It’s hard to imagine Van Halen history without him.
“We decided to make a movie about our childhood idol, who was closer to all the rock bands like Motley Crue, Van Halen, Led Zeppelin, Poison, Ratt … than any other rock photographer back in the days,” the filmmakers said, “and we did not expect what’s coming,” says award-winning filmmakers Declan and Beate Maynes of Rattlesnake Productions.
In addition to Anthony, the film features members of Kiss, Guns n’ Roses, Red Hot Chili Peppers, Korn, Rob Zombie, Anthrax, Slipknot, Steve Vai, Joe Satriani, Henry Rollins and others.
But don’t take our word for it. Watch the entire 92-minute film for free, above!
