Our friends and VHND fan favorites, Jacob Deraps & Joshua Gallagher, have made a couple cool videos that we thought would pair together nicely for VHND. (Also, we’ve got some exciting news about these guys at the bottom of this article)!
Jacob’s guitar video shows off some of the riffs that made Eddie Van Halen famous, while Josh’s four-screen a cappella showcases some of the vocal creativity and pure fun that David Lee Roth brought to the table. The two videos show the yin and yang of Van Halen’s allure.
Jacob: “Hello everyone! Here’s my attempt at Eddie’s Brown Sound with my brand new Pariah Pickups! The bridge is a Pasadena White and the neck is a prototype. I’m playing my Music Man Axis through my Germino Lead 55, hope you enjoy!”
Josh: “My cover of Van Halen’s barbershop style rendition of “Happy Trails” originally written by Dale Evans Rogers. I wanted to practice singing different vocal harmonies so I could improve my vocals live and be more comfortable finding the different notes. This was one of the songs I did in the exercise! haha. Quickly set up a camera and did some mixing and here it is!”

This summer, Josh will fly all the way from Australia to join guitarist/singer Jacob and bassist William Lachance to perform together in Québec Canada. Dates will be available on soon on jacobderapsmusic.com!
