A bank in New Orleans was robbed today by a man wearing a Van Halen shirt.
Dude, please get out of that Van Halen T-shirt before you jinx the band and they break up!
The New Orleans Advocate reports:
A man robbed the Whitney Bank in the heart of New Orleans’ French Quarter on Monday afternoon, according to the FBI.
The FBI said the robber walked into the Whitney in the 400 block of Chartres Street about 3 p.m. Monday and handed a teller note saying he had a weapon and demanded money. The teller gave the robber — who was wearing a black Cincinnati Bengals hat and a black Van Halen T-shirt — an undisclosed sum of money, and the robber fled, the FBI said.
The FBI released surveillance camera images of the suspected robber later in the day Monday.
While we can’t question this bank robber’s taste in music or attire, we do think he’s taking the first verse of “Running With the Devil” a little too literally. We here at the VHND would rather see him beg or borrow than resorting to the phrase, “All I’ve got, I had to steal.” Living at a pace that kills shouldn’t include bank robbery. Because, you know, we know the law, friend.
From the surveillance camera images, we can tell that the shirt worn by the robber was either the original Van Halen logo tee, or, if it has the “VAN HALEN WORLD TOUR 1978” print on the back, the 1978 World Tour Shirt. You can’t go wrong with either one!
