And now for something completely different.
Ever blow into empty bottles and notice the wide range of tones you can produce? Well, the “Bottle Boys,” as they’re called, have turned it into an art form. They cover famous songs using nothing but bottles. They blow into different types of bottles to produce specific tones.
They recently accepted a challenge to cover Michael Jackson’s smash hit, “Beat It,” and were even bold enough to attempt Eddie Van Halen’s iconic guitar solo included in the song — performed by blowing into bottles — which naturally is our favorite part.
Taking two empty plastic bottles, one man keeps time using them as shakers while the rest somehow manage to mimic “Beat It.”
Phillip from the Bottle Boys asks, “Ever heard 16th-note sextuplets split between two musicians playing bottles? Well, we just had to do that. Hope you enjoy it!”
“We could play Michael Jackson songs all day long – there is so much gold!! So now we did a bottle version of one of his number one hits: “Beat It!”! And to make it an even greater challenge we incorporated a bottlified version of Eddie Van Halen’s legendary guitar solo on the track. Safe to say, we never played this fast before!”
