Where is David Lee Roth? He’s right here! And we’re guessing he doesn’t feel tardy…
Keeping you abreast of the latest Van Halen oddities – here’s Diamond Dave offering up an introduction to Trisha Paytas’ top-heavy spoof of Van Halen’s “Hot For Teacher” video.
“Hot For Teacher” is the new single and video released today by Trisha Paytas—a YouTube celebrity/blogger who is immensely popular on social media. (Two YouTube channels totaling 2 million subscribers, and huge Facebook and Twitter pages). Her new 4-song EP. FAT CHICK was released last Friday.
Trisha is a huge fan of old Van Halen and all things ’80s, and her video director, Kale Flowers, is a diehard VH fan. The first video project they wanted to undertake was a spoof of Van Halen’s classic MTV video.
Paying homage to the original video, Trisha and her team filmed in John Marshall High—the same high school featured in VH’s video. Trisha even learned some of Diamond Dave’s dance moves, and can be seen wearing Eddie Van Halen’s Striped High Tops and the band’s “Live 1982” Lion t-shirt in part of the video. She just wants to have fun and doesn’t take anything too seriously.
Tricia and her director reached out to “the man” and were blown away when he said yes and contributed an introduction to their video.
