Happy Birthday, Wolfgang Van Halen!

by VHND — updated March 16, 2013 Leave a Comment

Wolfgang William Van Halen turns 22 years old today (born March 16, 1991). The Eddie Van Halen instrumental “316″ was named in his honor, after Wolfgang’s birthday date.

Named after the classical composer Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart, he is the son of Van Halen guitarist Eddie Van Halen and actress Valerie Bertinelli, and the nephew of Van Halen drummer Alex Van Halen.

Like his father and uncle, Wolfgang is a multi-instrumentalist; in addition to bass, he also plays drums, guitar, and keyboard.

Wolfgang recorded his first full-length album, A Different Kind of Truth, with Van Halen through 2011. The album was released on February 7, 2012.
