  1. TheTruthHurts says:

AWESOME! Thank you Van Halen Store! I thought it was a pipe-dream to think we’d ever get a “modern fit” Van Halen shirt! That’s great! Thanks so much! In a perfect world they’d make the vintage 1978 logo shirt with a “modern fit” (http://www.vanhalenstore.com/page/VH/PROD/Shirts_Mens/S78) or even the cover of Van Halen II in the same fit, but I’m not complaining!

  2. John says:

Where’s the “World Tour 2010″ shirts?

  3. Dooley says:

Shouldn’t it be the other way around?

Be a band first, put out a new album, go on tour,
    and then sell the clothes…

That’s how it should be. But wait, this is Van Halen…

  4. andy says:

Clothing for female VH fans? I thought the only fans left were us grumpy old men complaining..

  5. fish says:

    Retail price: $48
    Wow, that’s really steep for a T-Shirt!

  6. Jon says:

    Sweet! Those are killer.

  7. Adam says:

This is awesome! I have been waiting for VH to make slim-fit shirts forever, but gave up. I don’t prefer the fit of “regular” tees, even though most people seem to. These new VH tees look like Trunk Ltd tees, which I LOVE. There is nothing like a soft, faded vintage looking tee! Way better than regular tees, in my opinion. I can’t believe VH finally made some.

  8. ben says:

I bought mine a couple of months ago!
    fits really cool.

  9. Mark says:

Van Halen does a great job of accomplishing everything an operating band should do…except make music.

  10. phillster says:

Welcome to “Monty Capuletti`s Regular-Guy Look”
    (Easy Money w/Rodney Dangerfield)

  11. chris.omeara says:

Can I get one of those skin-tight yellow leopard/tiger body suits like DLR used to wear?

    Except in XL size…

    Just kidding (bad mental pic)…

  12. Dooley says:

    Where’s Kimberly?

She should be all over this.

  13. Adam says:

    fish,

$48 would be really steep for a *regular* 100% cotton shirt, but not for a designer shirt, which are nothing like regular shirts. Shirts like these sell for $50 – $100 usually.

    AC/DC shirts by Trunk sell for $55 – $169:

    http://www.store.livenation.com/Dept.aspx?cp=13281_16771_12251_12427_12449

$48 retail really is a decent price. But Van Halen Store is selling them for just $38, which is pretty good!

  14. Jason says:

Am I supposed to care that Kim Kardashian and Marissa Miller wear a VH T-shirt? If they are VH fans now, what does that really say about the band??

  15. Angelo says:

Jason, it says that VH are cool & sexy. Do you feel sexy?

Seriously, do you think they are too good looking to be VH fans? You don’t think they like stellar, fun, rock ‘n’ roll?

  16. dude says:

I’m glad they have that cool 1979 tour shirt in “slim-fit” or “fitted.” It’s perfect for all us “aging gracefully muscular beefcake” type rockers!

  17. VH2008 says:

And I thought Kim Kardashian was hot BEFORE she was wearing VH tees!

  18. RickieVanWhalen says:

This is the “high end” fashion line? Did anybody see the Van Halen dress tie and loafers? I can’t seem to find them.

  19. SandyC says:

I’m so glad they finally made a cute shirt for kids! We will be getting those for our sons. They are 5 & 7 and they love van Halen & AC/DC. What can I say? We trained them well. lol.

  20. andym says:

AWESOME!!!!!!! Now we all can wear more throwback t-shirts!!! I think next i’ll get a Jim Brown football jersey or maybe a Revolutionary War uniform!!!

Seriously, this is just what we all need…outdated merchandise from our favorite band that keeps outdating themselves month by month with no prominent news.

Adam – please don’t misguide everyone by calling these shirts “designer shirts”. They’re t-shirts that probably cost $10 to make and everyone pays the big bucks for the licensing fees and royalties that VH continues to squeeze out of everyone. Look at the quality of the shirt…38% cotton, 50% polyester, 12% rayon = they will probably shred in your washer and dryer after you wear it a dozen times (if it doesn’t shrink first).

  21. Panama Red says:

    SWEET!
This is the start of something really cool! I say start because I’m hoping they continue making this line of vintage tees in other VH designs as well. I’m thinking about buying that Eagle tee now. I didn’t buy it before because I don’t really like the newly-printed brand new shirt look. I like the more worn-out faded look. Plus these vintage shirts are a lot more comfortable.
I hope they make more with the other designs and logos from old tours. Like the “hammer man” and all of the other designs VH has used from the 70′s and 80′s that you rarely see anymore. I’m glad this is finally happening, it’s really cool. Now I don’t have to hunt through the internet looking for these old vintage tees.(if the Van Halen store continues with this “designer line”)

I also liked the way the OU812 shirt looked that Sammy was wearing at the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame induction. And I want that brown Cabo shirt I’ve seen him wear with the mexican skull. I can’t find that one for sale, but it’s one of the coolest Cabo shirts I’ve seen.

@ The Truth Hurts- I agree it would also be cool to see some of the classic album covers on a vintage tee. Ohhhh Man, how sweet would the cover of “Fair Warning” look on a vintage tee.
I really hope they keep making more!

  22. Dooley says:

    VH2008:

Yeah, Kim K. is nice lookin’ but I think
the fake boobs are a negative. I’ll take
    natural knockers every time.

  23. Adam says:

    andym -
For many people, 38% cotton, 50% polyester, 12% rayon is a positive, not a negative. I have a couple Rolling Stone shirts made by Chaser (the company that is making the VH tees). No, they don’t get ruined when you wash them, and they shrink less than a regular tee.

The type of shirt people like is personal preference. I myself FAR prefer this type of shirt to the extremely common 100% cotton tees that everyone wears.

  24. lucky says:

Well, those are swell lookin’ tees and all, but I’m not sure if I’d shell out the $40 or so for a…..tshirt.

Cool design though. I’ll say what everyone else says, music then t-shirts, but whatever.

  25. Michael says:

This is all nice stuff, but c’mon, how about some new songs???!!!

  26. meanstreet90 says:

this stuff isn’t new, i’ve had the eagle shirt since at least july…

  27. DiamondDLR says:

Apparently Ed thinks that the Future’s in the Past.

  28. Jimmy Jingles says:

    Where is the “FatAss” size?

  29. Panama Red says:

Andym – Ya know I can be negative, pessimistic, sarcastic, and even cynical sometimes. But sometimes too much is….just too much. We’re all waiting for the same bus man.

Life is too short to be cynical about all of the small things.(something I need reminding of sometimes) This isn’t a personal attack or anything, I’m not trying to be condescending.(I dislike condescension even more than cynicism) I’m just saying from one Van Halen fan to another, maybe lighten up a little and stop waiting for Eddie to get off his ass and just go have some fun.

I’m not trying to be preachy, or be Tony Robbins but I was just reminded of how little these things really are. I just came back from the dentist who I’ve been going to since I was a little kid, and he has Cancer, it’s terrible.

Take it or leave it man, but it was a good reminder for me to pay attention to the big picture.

  30. DK69 says:

Panama Red, I am with you! I love the faded vintage look over the newly printed look. I just ordered the 2 men’s shirts & men’s hoody.

I like their 1979 shirt with the circle around it… a nice twist to the original VH logo. And I love the gray eagle tee too. But they did not make a shirt using my all-time favorite t-shirt design ever – VH’s Lion wearing the sunglasses. I want one of those! I know the VH store sells the Lion, but they have it just on the regular tees.

  31. Jor-L5150 says:

this just gets more and more hilarious….

  32. Greg says:

$40 tee shirts made in China…where do I sign up?!?!?!

  33. Atomic Pete says:

When I saw the headline I was prepared to be a bit cynical
but these actually look really sharp. Nothing sexier than
    a hot chick in a =VH= T .

And the name “semi-burnout” reminds me of high school.

    Have a great weekend peeps!

  34. Fletch5150 says:

I can see an interview with Kim now:

Interviewer: Kim, I see you have a Van Halen shirt on. What is your favorite song or album?

Kim: (lengthy pause)……er……..(pauses again)….ah…..(longer lengthy pause)…..(pr person whispers in her ear)……Ah, California Girls.

Interviewer: OK, well then what is your favorite David Lee Roth solo song?

    Kim: I Can’t Drive 55.

  35. Panama Red says:

I definitely wasn’t trying to come across as holier-than-thou. So please don’t mistake me for someone like that. I have just as much of a deficit of knowledge about life as anyone else does in this crazy world. I just had a small revelation and was reminded of it.

I should have just waited for Scar or Phillster or someone to say “Chill the fuck out and go smoke a bowl”. Ha ha
That would probably work in taking care of your funk too. LOL

  36. mark says:

These new VH shirts say “Made in the USA.” you don’t see that much anymore….

  37. Eric Miller says:

    Meanstreet90,

I have the gray eagle shirt too. I bought it in LA at one of those shops near sunset blvd. I think I paid $50. I think that shirt came out earlier than all the others. That’s why you see pics of celebrities wearing it already. A while ago I was watching TMZ, or one of those other celeb-stalking shows, and Megan Fox was wearing the ladies version of the same 1984 eagle shirt. Pretty cool. I assumed she was wearing it just because it’s trendy to wear vintage rock shirts, but I read in maxim that her fave bands are van halen & nirvana! Not that I really care what celebrities like, but it’s cool to see some of the younger hollywood crowd digging the Halen! It’s nice to see that you didn’t have to grow up in the ’80′s to be turned onto VH.

  38. Panama Red says:

@ Flecth5150- That was good man. Probably verbatim, if someone asked her that.

@ Eric Miller. I think I saw Megan Fox wearing that too. I don’t give two shits what cheezball celebrities wear, I’m just glad VH fans are going to be able to get these now without having to live in L.A.

  39. Kimberly says:

    Ohh geez…well..good bye money lol

I am gettin it all for suree

  40. james says:

Well it’s about time we get something besides just the damn music!!!

  41. Dr. Jones says:

    “You asked…we responded”

We asked for a new record too…..still waiting for a response on that one! Ed? Dave? Any comments???

  42. No Mas Tony says:

:-) Yay! SLENDER FITTING VAN HALEN T-SHIRTS! Just what I always wanted! I can die a happy man!

All my dreams have come true!
Now if only I pissed beer and shit ice cream…

  43. No Mas Tony says:

I would pay $40 if Kim Kardashian came WITH the T-shirt ;-)

  44. Patrick says:

Looks like my fat ass ain’t wearin any of this stuff.

Oh well….my 1982 Lion reissue 4XL will do.

  45. DLR says:

How about showing Ed’s wife in one of these……..No Jenny Craig in her Resume………..

  46. Sean says:

Cool shirts, too bad there can’t be one post on here without all the crying. I wish I had all day to sit around and worry about a new VH record. I did when I was 14. You really think Ed is going to read this and be convinced? When it comes, it comes. We’ve waited this long, what’s another 6 months? Peace

  47. freddiegirl says:

No Andy, there’s still some female VH fans left..
These are very cool although I could care less about Kim Kardashian wearing one.

  48. Sandman says:

I AM LOSING TOTAL RESPECT FOR THESE GUYS…. WHY HAVENT THEY COMMUNICATED WITH THEIR FANS? YOU KNOW THEY HAVE MATERIAL TO PUT OUT A LIVE DVD OF THIS LAST TOUR WITH ROTH…THEY GIVE US A FAKE CHRISTMAS GREETING AND ASK US TO BUY BULLSHIT! SHOW SOME RESPECT TO YOUR FANS!

  49. meanstreet90 says:

    eric miller,

you definately didn’t have to grow up in the 80′s to like VH. hell i wasn’t even born in the 80′s and they’re my favorite band!

  50. johnny beane says:

These are just like the vh shirts you see for sale here in walnut creek.

Have seen ACDC and Journey ones too.

I really like that 1979 tour shirt!
Maybe i need that and a pair of the yellow vh shoes too!

  51. Ameicano says:

Sandman, I TOTALLY agree with you! BUT I’m all yelled out at this point. I like this website because it’s a great diversion a few days a week…nothing more. I hope for something new from the Mighty but I/we have all expressed that for days, them months and now years.

    But hey pretty shirts:-)

  52. Mark Sachs says:

I prefer to buy a concert tee shirt and wear it to death until it looks vintage! lol I mean, after all regular concert tees are up to $35.00 a piece.

I knew a dude who had a Guns N Roses shirt that he bought during their first tour back in the 80s. That guy had worn it so much that the black was starting to fade to a cool looking charcol color! Plus, the cotton in it had really thinned out.

Regarding the new VH shirts on here, they do look really good. I commend VHND for offering them for less then the suggested retail price.

  53. andym says:

Panama Red – I hear what you’re saying and I agree with you but I’m not a cynical person…just objective and in a state of REALITY. It’s probably a big reason why I think I became more of a Sammy fan after he got kicked out of and then left VH. At least he accepts that VH is done and he’s at least trying to put out new music for the fans in any way he can. Maybe I’m just tired of the BS that VH has put us all through over the last 12 years.

Fletch5150 – good work by you.

Sandman – you’re preaching to the choir my man.

  54. skutch says:

You guys will complain about ANYTHING. Absolutely anything.

This is bar none the coolest clothing VH has put out to date.

  55. arthur_bishop1972 says:

It’s all business-whether its Goldman Sachs or Van Halen.

“And that be the way it IS.”

  56. marvin says:

Where’s the VH rhinestone-bedazzled suede jockstrap with carbon fiber reinforced cup? Make mine supersize!

  57. Dirty Duck says:

    I really like these shirts!

I love rock tee’s, but have you ever noticed that they never “fit” right? I hate that loose feeling in the short sleeves. I’m in pretty damn good shape so I like em’ tight.
It’s great finally having some VH tee’s like this! No more having to buy “mediums” and shrinkin’ em’ to a small!

  58. chris.omeara says:

Former Goldman Sachs Bank Investor Replaces Head of Greek Debt Office… scary… one by one they’re sucking us dry… I’d rather give our money to Van Halen, at least they’ll probably give us an album sooner or later… Time to wake up…

  59. phillster says:

There are a Bunch of high quality bootlegs from the last tour
    on ebay.I got M.S.G nov.13th`o7 AND Canada 1984- freakin` awesome!!!
Maybe if some of you spent a little more time searching for these gems instead of whining, bitching&moaning about how Ed
doesn`t love you anymore, you won`t come across as pathetic
as you sound to the rest of us.

  60. The atomic Zucco says:

Does kardashian and Miller even know who Van Halen is? Or did they just see the shirts at some fancy ass boutique and just have to have it? e damn news about a tour or new album.

  61. Dawn says:

Of course there are female fans Andy!
I had to buy a shirt, they are very cool. I hate the typical concert shirts that are so big and not fitted at all.
Lots of summer concerts starting to list, I am still hoping and I don’t care if they don’t have a new album.

  62. kent says:

Since I practically forgot about valentines day this year, I think I’ll get my wife that black 1979 VH shirt as kind of an extra V-day gift. She’ll love it! And so will I. :)

  63. ClubfootKolby says:

I would like to see them remake the 2004 tour shirt with the shoes on it.

  64. Panama Red says:

@Eric Miller – I didn’t realize Megan Fox was a big VH fan. I assumed these celebrities mostly wore stuff based on the current trends like you said. Maybe she isn’t such a big cheezball after all. I still think Kim K. is though. Although I have to say I’m usually not attracted to her at all, but in that picture she looks smokin’.

Andym – I understand your frustration towards the band being so stagnant and your frustration is warranted. I just think it’s kind of monotonous how every comment section has someone saying something like “What about new music?” Like that’s a new thought or idea that we haven’t all been thinking for the last several years.
Y’know sometimes when that subject comes up it can be interesting to briefly converse about, depending on the tone/mood of how the comments were stated. I mean, I’m all about being objective and realistic about stuff, but sometimes comments like that, that aren’t really related to the thread, but instead are just posted as a general negative statement about “no new music” can be a buzzkill when people are diggin’ on what the actual news article is about (even if it’s something as little as feeling something postive for VH, like about new shirts) But whatever man, it’s ALLLLL good, this is a public site for VH fans so we all have a right to say whatever the hell we wanna say, and a buzzkill is a good excuse to take another shot.

I’m gonna order the vintage eagle shirt for myself and I might as well finally get around to ordering the low-top white/black striped shoes for my wife. She’ll like those, Obsessed-much with shoes. That’s where she is right now, out shopping for shoes. Sheesh.

  65. VH rocks says:

“Made in the USA” … very cool!

  66. TubbyTuba says:

Cool duds. How bout a Sam And Dave, summertime line of Sonrisa Salvaje and PateoPollo shirts. Everything’s more fun, south of the border.

  67. Bluesbro says:

1979 World Tour … really? I do like the sweatshirt though.

  68. Adrian says:

Great designs but true fans are fine with a new looking t-shirt. This just opens up the doors for a thousand dumbass chicks to wear the tee because “It has a cool little logo!” and then when you ask they can’t even name you jump as a song written by Van Halen. Pink Floyd is the largest victim of this.

  69. Phil says:

The hoodie looks cool. Yeah, some 2010 tour shirts wouldn’t hurt my feelings too bad either.

  70. VH2008 says:

    Bluesbro,

Man, the 1979 tour was absolutely one of the best tours they ever did. I have a ton of bootlegs, and in my opinion their best tours were probably 1979-1981…at least as far as how much improvisation & uninhibited JAMMING there was during the shows. Legendary!

As far as the shirt saying “1979″ I love it! I love concert tees with old dates on them, preferably the ’70′s and ’80′s. What can I say, I love nostalgia, especially rock tees from that time period, which I think was, overall, the best time period for music. Love it!

  71. Romeo Delight says:

Yes, the hoodys are freaking awesome! I really think they did an incredible job on these. I really dig the colors and styles. I love the faded black & dark gray colors.

I have been wishing VH would finally make some thin shirts like this, but I practically gave up hope because they never seemed to be into merchandising compared to other classic rock bands. You could buy shirts like this for pretty much every rock band except Van Halen over the last several years. I have a few thin/vintage Stones and Doors shirts that look vintage, but I’ve never been able to score some for my favorite band, until now.

If VH’s company is listening, my 2 cents would be to make a fair warning tee and a diver down tour with the lion on it. Please keep making new ones, and thank you for making these!!

  72. Jamie's Not Crying says:

remake the 2004 shirt with the fire globe & the one where it says “VAN HALEN KICKS ASS” on the back,

  73. Rich says:

Here in the UK we only have Rolling Stone’s versions of these. They’re sold literally everywhere and now I realise why: its “cool” to wear a vintage band t-shirt, regardless of if you actually like the band or not.

These are pretty cool though, I like the fact they brought back the 1979 World Tour tee. Might have to look into getting one.

  74. non-stop talker says:

I don’t give a shit, or a baker’s fuck, about high-end designer fashion apparel. But hey, I’ve got no problem with Van Halen making more cash through selling it. They’ve earned the right. I did buy a pair of the shoes though, and I wear ‘em every day. I guess I’m a sucker for that striped pattern hahahaha

  75. Dawn says:

    Adrian:
    “dumbass chicks”?

  76. phillster says:

    Adrian:
    “pink floyd”?

  77. phil says:

i was up in santa cruz, ca this weekend and a radio station there was saying van halen will be touring with dlr this summer. hopefully it’s true and it was great to hear something bout VH!…..

  78. Rick Pride says:

I just purchased the grey one!!! That is what I’ll be wearing to the 2010 VAN HALEN TOUR!!!! I also purchased the red stripped shoes. Can’t wait to get em. Hopefully I’ll have my biceps looking awesome by summer time baby!!!!!!

  79. Fat Cat says:

How SWEET would it be to “MOTOR BOAT” Kim Kardashian in a Van Halen T-SHIRT???? The world may never know!!!!!

  80. phil says:

i love hot girls in van halen shirts!

  81. Rick Pride says:

I love hot girls in Van Halen shirts as well!!! Brrrrrrrrrr mmmmmmm brrrrrrrrr bllllllllllrrrrrrrrr. That was me motor boating

  82. Skutch says:

I may buy the hoodie. I already own an original black short sleeve from each of the 1st six tours and a 1984 crew hoodie with the “hammer guy” on the back. This grey hoodie is just too cool and is actually stylish.

  83. dude says:

    @Fat Cat

I’m assuming Reggie Bush knows …

  84. Kimberly says:

Hmm..dumb a** chicks..nice Adrian. Someone had a wittle bad day now didnt he?=’(

Look man, I’m all for VH makin’ new ANYTHING. New music, new tour, new shirts WHATEVER. So long as I know they still exist…I am on it. Hoping for some news soon! And if not, take your time boys..make it count next time ’round…we’ll be waiting=)

  85. Karl says:

“So long as I know they still exist…”

And that’s the problem. Until thy make some new music they don’t exist. And no amount of Ts is going to make it so…

  86. lucky says:

I give them props for putting out some “made in the USA” merchandise though. That is nice to see.

  87. vh1190 says:

“Hey, psycho – we’re not gonna discuss this, OK, it’s over. Please get out of my Van Halen t-shirt before you jinx the band and they break up.”

  88. Where's Dave? says:

Up next, vintage David Lee Roth chaps.

  89. Dawn says:

I just received my shirt and it is even better then I thought it would be. Ladies, if you are debating between sizes I would suggest to go with the smaller size.
It is so nice to finally have a VH shirt that is flattering.

  90. Dirty Duck says:

    Where’s Dave:

You know what….I’ll take those chaps brother!

  91. Dooley says:

    Gee, Duck.

    That ‘d be cute !

  92. Dooley says:

On second thought, I’d rather see Kimberly in ‘em.

    Oh yeah!!

  93. DK69 says:

I got my 2 tees and the hoody friday. They are freaking AWESOME. They look way better in person than online. Fit like a glove. WAY better than cotton tees.

I’m hoping they make more men’s shirts.

  94. paul wilkinson says:

only uk residents will know who she is but i saw bianca gascoigne wearing a vh t shirt on tv’s “snog, marry, avoid”. shes gone up in my estimation!!!!!! p.s. shes the socialite daughter of a famous soccer player.

  95. Greg says:

I love the comments from fans who want music and not this merch!
