Well said Jack! It plain as day that Sam wants Eddie to stay a drunk so he can still bag him and paint Eddie as the bad guy in public!! Jack you are 100% right about alcoholism is nothing to celebrate and of Sam’s glamorisation of Eddie’s alcohol abuse. That’s below the belt. But judging by Sam’s & Mike’s latest outbursts it seem’s their alcohol abuse is alarming too. The shit that’s coming out of their mouths lately plus memory loss; Mike thinks Van Halen released more albums with Sam than with Dave?!! I think Sam is so jealous of Eddie that’s its become an obsession.

He just can’t come to grips that Dave is back in Van Halen, they completed their biggest and highest gross tour to date.

He’s still talking about Van Halen because its what he’s most recognised as being part of. Van Halen are in the spotlight again – all the interviews with Sammy and Mike lately have been centered around their new stuff but especially catching bits of gossip about their time in Van Halen.

The radio interview with Mike sure shows how classy he still is, for a guy who got kicked out of a band. He’s got a lot of personal satisfaction and doesn’t showboat himself off and badmouth the band.

Sammy…should probably watch what he says. I love Sammy but saying shit about Eddie isn’t the best way to do things, especially as Ed doesn’t really seem to say anything bad about Chickenfoot or whatever.

And its my firm belief that if Eddie and Sam could turn the clock back then they would still be in Van Halen together. No question.

Funny how Sam can’t get over not being in Van Halen. Even though he is happy with CF he needs to talk time and time again about the person that made him rich and famous.

Right Ben, because Sammy was a complete unknown without Van Halen. He never fronted Montrose or had a successful solo career. I’ll give you he never had the kind of success he had with Van Halen but to say he owes all of his popularity to EVH is ridiculous.

And Jack, you need to pay more attention if you think Sammy doesn’t advocate for anything worthwhile. Why don’t you look into the various charities he’s been involved with like his Beach Bar and Grill in Hawaii where all profits go to local kids programs or else his program “Blessings in a Backpack” which benefit less privileged kids who don’t get enough to eat ouside of school. Sammy’s done more charity work than the VH bros combined since he left that band.

I am tired of hearing about largest gossing sales in concerts…I am an fan of VH – from the 1st album on, but when it comes to concerts….highest grossing, yea. I saw them in 84 when the ticket prices were $17.50 and $20.50 or something like that….now tickets are $150 or so. Yea, let’s put in perspective…no wonder bands are grossing higher and higher. Plus, they now have corporate sponsors that foot part or all of the bill on top of the tix prices.

Nice try kayser. Not very impressive though. Those same programs are offered everywhere by the government. The guy is so immersed in himself, his booze, and his driving habits that he wouldn’t know what charity was if it was in a shot glass. Sammy needs to sober up and use his status in the world to actually benefit society.

ben! You’re right on the money!! Why is he constantly talking about Eddie and Van Halen when he’s been forever telling us how over the moon, life is good and happy he is about Chickenfoot?!! At least Van Halen when Roth left back in 85, they insisted any questions from journalist on the split were strictly forbidden. Can’t he just shut up?!! Dave had a golden opportunity to take pot shots at Sam or Mike durning the 07/08 tour but didn’t.

Sam is sure doing is best in burning bridges. It seems Sam gets a kick out of seeing or wanting Eddie to be a drunk, miserable etc, but worried now that Eddie has got his life back in order and looking better by the day. Like King Edward said “I just want to give you nothing but my best”. He won’t cheat on his fans and just release music because others have. He cheated on his fans once! And that was the reunion with Sam in 2004, it almost cost his life!!!

It must eat away at Sam’s ego that he will forever be in the shadow of Diamond Dave!! The original, the best and the ONLY lead singer in the mighty VAN HALEN!! Dave & Eddie….their untouchable when ON FIRE!!!!!

Right on, Jack – why don’t you ask the kids who have food on the weekends whether or not Sammy’s Blessings in a Backpack program is any benefit to society. Or why don’t you ask the kids organizations on Maui who receive the profits from Sammy’s Beach Bar & Grill whether or not Sammy has used his status in the world to any good.

If you aren’t impressed by Sammy’s charitable works than surely you must have done much, much more for the less fortunate than Sammy has, right? Surely you have opened businesses and given the profits from them to charity, right?

At the very least, you must be at least be helping programs that are already “offered everywhere by the government”, yeah?

I’m glad to see you are doing so much for the rest of the world that you can sit back and criticize others who care enought to try. That’s great.

ask any real musican and they will tell how important that band was. they were before aerosmith too.
sam has been a success and continues to be a success as a solo artist, and van halen with sam with very successful if you havent noticed.

for sure and then dave went wacko by 1991.. that means maybe 2 or 3 more van halen if dave would have stayed. maybe.

Every interview always involves questions about EVH. Hagar answers the questions, but it is gotten very old because its all over. EVH needs to make a new record with Roth and then the questions will be on what Sammy thinks about the new VH record.

Unless I have missed the story about how Sammy Hagar forces all the parents of the kids he helps to drink his tequila to the point they become alcoholics and lose their jobs, that’s a silly statement.

It’s pretty clear you’ve got some focused hatred for Sammy if you’re gonna rip the guy for his charitable works. And you’re clearly pretty touchy about his tequila. Perhaps you or someone you care about has some serious problems with alcohol, in which case I feel for you. But we’re all grown ups, Jack. We all need to accept responsibility for our own actions.

And I promise to stay out of your yard, Jack. I’ve got better things to do than debate with someone who advocates blaming outsiders for one’s personal problems. Life sure is easier if we can claim to be victims. That way there’s no reason to try and make our lives better because it’s completely out of our hands. Instead, we can wait around for the people that screwed us up to fix us (or do some charity work) out of guilt, right?

The bottom line is both Sammy, Mike and Eddie all have a history of slamming the other side for the past’s transgressions. They all act like a bunch of kids. The amount of spite ALL these guys have has got to be crippling.

I’m happy that Sam enjoys CF, but him always slamming Ed is downright juvenile. Hopefully with Ed’s sobriety will be some ability to let the past go. I think Dave shows the most class out of any of the bunch.

Sammy said in an interview, that Van Halen multiplied his popularity and $$. Sammy was always good to the fans. Even singing Van Halen Roth classics.

The only shit Mikey gave was that he was tired of not going out to play live. He got kicked out for being a true musician.

Sammy is right about Mexico. If you’ve never been to Cabo, you shouldn’t talk. Sammy gets a lot of credit down there for helping popularize Cabo San Lucas.

Best as I can tell, the only one being crippled by spite is EDDIE. It seems like Sammy and Mike have moved on…maybe you’ve heard? As long as people ask Sam about Ed you’ll jump all over him.
