Chickenfoot’s debut album certified Gold

Chickenfoot’s debut album was certified GOLD by the RIAA (Recording Industry Association of America) last Thursday, Sept. 10th.

Congrats to Chickenfoot for selling 500,000 albums! Pretty impressive for a hard rock band to do that in the year 2009!

VAN…the hip are great, but they are hardly technicicans. Nickleback is so darn precise, because that’s their thing. It’s not a comparison at all when it comes to musicianship. However, the Hip’s body of work speaks for itself.

Hey Nikcelback and Daughtry are pretty cool bands but I love this Chcikenfoot thing, yeah I miss and want back Van Hagar, but man Sammy is rocking just as great with Chickenfoot, and now that everyone has got to know this band muti-platinum is not far off, the only problem is that Sammy “god bless his soul” is 62 years old so even if they are bigger down the road will Sammy’s youth stay with him.

Fair Warning is correct about Nickelback’s sales, but Nickelback is a band that is being forced down our throats at radio by major label promotion. CF is independent and is pretty much self-promoted. Also, CF’s album is still on the charts… It is not like it has stopped selling copies. I figure the album will be at least platinum before it is finished, which is a major accomplishment for any band in 2009. It is amazing they are selling so well without any Top 40 radio promotion.

All in all, it is great to see a band such as CF doing so well without the kick of a major label. That means more of the money will go in their pockets. They will not have to pay back the “majors” for promotion and support… But, the members of CF are hurting for money.

Congrats to Chickenfoot! This is a major accomplishment for a band that got started in Tahoe. Comparing Chickenfoot to Nickelback is asinine. Nickelback is VH1 and mainstream pop radio. Sirius includes Nickelback on their pop channels, so that is a garbage. Anyone that has seen Chickenfoot play live understands what the Foot is about. Plain and simple kick ass rock and roll. Nickelback can go back to selling their songs for commercials, because they aren’t shit live.

Wow, how the people are deceived. Shame on the music industry, but just because an album was certified gold doesn’t mean that it sold 500,000 copies. It simply means that 500,000 units were shipped.

So, as of Sept. 10, the album was certified gold. Yet,
