  1. SCAR says:

“Oh Yeah” another party weekend is here!!! I bet the haters will be “Running out” of common sense and start with the unwanted stupid drama and lyrics comments that makes them feel so good about themselves. But, without them who else would deliver pizzas and hot wings to our door? I’ll take extra cheese please and don’t forget the free liter of pepsi!!!

  2. Vanicionado says:

    Well spoke Scar! Well spoke!!

“Oh Yeah” is a hit in my country. Hearing it on the radio the other day was pretty fantastic! Kind of like when I hear “Me Wise Magic” for the first time on the radio.

    Can’t wait till next Friday!!

  3. Steve says:

OK, I’m really happy about Chickenfoot and I like what I hear, however, I just think that they look like old timer dorks with those sunglasses on all the time. In every pic of them they are always wearing sunglasses. I just think they’re tying to look cool when they don’t have to try.

  4. FAMAC says:

Runnin Out sounds like a tune off Aerosmith’s Pump - just can’t put my finger on which tune it is.

  5. FAMAC says:

Sorry - it got a similar guitar pattern to Dude Looks Like A Lady

  6. Kayser Sozay says:

Steve… the first wrinkles usually appear around the eyes. You know, those damn crowsfeet (or are they Chickenfeet for these guys). I don’t know if they are trying to look cool so much as not look so damn old.

In Satriani’s case, I think he’s trying to hide his eyes altogether because they may give away that he really is an alien…just big shiny black orbs with no features or something crazy like that. Makes sense when you consider both his otherworldly skill and that Hagar used to spout off about being visited by aliens. It fits, doesn’t it?

  7. Andrew says:

Chickenfoot………..they sound like a bad Night Ranger! Now If Joe had gone out and got Sully Erna from Godsmack, they would smoke!!

  8. HotRats says:

Ugh, it kills my spirit to actually admit this. But I actually have to agree with the Roth freaks on one thing.

But just one thing. Oh Yeah is a bland, boring song so they are right. It sounds like a Def Leppard outtake.

I still like Chickenfoot but they could have chosen a better single to lead the album. Like Avenida Revolution.

I do think Running Out is a good song. I dig that.

Note to Chickenfoot, or anyone in their organization if the comments are actually read here. In the future, leave songs like Oh Yeah off the album and singles.

Put stuff like Down The Drain or Avenida out. Cause with songs like Oh Yeah you are basically giving the Roth freaks a loaded gun. And doesnt help your credibility to new listener.

BTW I respect everybody has different tastes in music. But thank god Joe didnt get Sully Erna from Godsmack. I absolutely hate them. They are the best representation of corporate metal.

Thank god there is bands like The Sword. Otherwise I would have given up on metal a long time ago.

  9. pete says:

TBO i dont think chickenfoot really care about the roth freaks, they will never please them anyways.

  10. Andrew says:

We all have our own idea’s on music, thank god (Of Thunder). We can’t all like the same stuff. That would be boring. I love the RHCP’s, Joe is fantastic, one of the best. Mike has a great voice, an average bass play however. Sammy is entertaining, great showman. Now really we all want new Van Halen material, but this Chickenfoot music is just filler. Nothing standout, nobody will remember this music in 10 years. Sorry but over the years it fades away. Maybe if they didn’t use Super Group it would go over better. Joe is the only real great musician in the band, and he just wanted to be in a rock band that gets played on the radio. All the other Super Groups have faded away Velvet Revolver, Audio Slave etc.

P.S. You like Sword because their not corporate, and you like Chickenfoot because…….?

  11. DANNYBOY says:

Outdoor party, some jack daniels (or whatever you prefer) some lovely ladies, good friends and this music playing would be just fine with me, no problem. I like they way their promoting this band, and the Chad bit about Led Zep was right on, it would be a damn good time hanging out with these guys is the vibe I’m getting

  12. T.O. Mike says:

I think Chad Smith is hilarious! Especially taking about drunk Sammy and Zepplin references!

  13. phil says:

scar, are you going to the best buy appearance next week?

  14. HotRats says:

I am a huge fan of the Red Hot’s. See I think Mike is a great bass player. For some reason everyone think great bass playing is in the context of people like Cliff Burton, Flea, Bootsy Collins.

No disrespect meant to those guys as they are phenomanal bass players. But a great bass player also can be seen as one who is tasteful plays for the song.

I’ve heard bootlegs of Mike live. Let me tell you he can cut loose like a Billy Sheehan with the rest of them. He just chooses to play for the song rather than show off. It isnt always about what you play, but what you dont play.

As far as nobody remembering Supergroups, Blind Faith gets played on the radio still. As does Crosby, Stills, And Nash along with Audioslave.

And Joe is not the only good musician. Chad Smith is one of the best drummers of my generation. He is up there with people like Bonham, Alex Van Halen, (no matter how much of a spineless douchebag he is).

Lyric writing may be Sammy’s achille heel, but he is a fantastic rock singer.

I like Chickenfoot because they are already established musicians. Who separately advanced different areas of rock music. They made the music before getting signed to a label

Where as Godsmack is the latest by the numbers Slayer/Pantera cover band. Also Chickenfoot isnt heavy metall just rock and roll. You cant compare the two since they are different.

I am someone who is in love with all types of music. Have been since I was a teenager. In my world, people like Bob Dylan, Randy Newman, Willie Nelson, George Jones, AC/DC, Motorhead, Outkast, The Roots, X, The Pixies, Metallica, The White Stripe, Igor Stravinsky all play in the same club so to speak. Now that may be a screwed up evening for some, but thats my life.

  15. SCAR says:

Phil I can’t I spent all my weed money trying to get Jakes band (magnesium) music lessons - they need it, cause they really suck!!!!

  16. MA=VH says:

His impressive music chops aside, Sammy’s marketing skills are pretty much second to none. He seems to have aligned himself with some great minds that understand the message and, as important, how to get it out without it being lost in the constant noise of current technology and trends. Considering he is an admitted technophobe, he’s working with some great people on this part. His ability to brand and build hype about himself, the things he’s involved with and the people he’s around are pretty damned impressive. Even his detractors have to admit that much.
Oh, and T.O. Mike and I saw the Foot last weekend and the Foot kicked our asses (sonically).

  17. satovan says:

Scar I’ll pitch in for yah, got me a bonus from rickyvanwhalen he’s gonna give his 2 grand to charity, and we’ll spend it on having fun listening to VH while waiting for chickenfoot to release their cd! green hit saved for you bro!!!

  18. Andy says:

At 2:54 on day 4, I can’t believe how much Sammy looks like a character called “the dude” (played by Jeff Bridges) in the movie “The Big Lebowski”.

  19. t1m says:

HotRats, rock on with Stravinsky. Petrouchka is off the hook, my personal favorite.

Also, wooo Chickenfoot! I am happy for them that they enjoy their music more than I do.

  20. SCAR says:

satovan - alright bro lets light em up!!!!

  21. RickieVanWhalen says:

Your girlfriend is the charity case sato so I do not have to pay anything. Just admit you suck as a guitarist and I will post the youtube of “one foot out the door” for you.

Oh yeah just about sums up sammy hagar’s abilities doesn’t it? Satch must be rolling his eyes, even at this one.

  22. Rick says:

    Oh Yeah! Ariba Ariba!

  23. SCAR says:

and the winner this round is satovan!!!

  24. SCAR says:

RickyVanspankinhismeat is mad because he got fired, he just couldn’t get the pizza and wings delivered in 30 minutes or less.

  25. Rick says:

Pizza, Chickenwings and liters of Pepsi, that’s why you guys love Sam & Mike, you look like them. That’s why they called it Chickenfoot(wings), they know what their fans love.

  26. fernando says:

God, enough with Chickenfoot. This is the Van Halen news desk. Let Chickenfoot get their own freakin website and let Mike and Sammy finally do their own thing and stop milking their past with VH.

  27. pete says:

as opposed to van halen milking their own past fernando?
