Van Halen Rocked and Ruled Vegas

by VHND — updated July 12, 2013 Leave a Comment

In what many fans are calling one of the best concerts of the current tour, Van Halen pulled out all the stops at the sold out MGM Grand Garden Arena in Las Vegas Sunday night (May 27th). From all accounts, Eddie, Alex, and Wolfgang Van Halen were an unstoppable musical powerhouse,  playing like the virtuosos they are. Eddie matched up to his living-legend status on the guitar, Alex was rock solid as usual and Wolf played perfectly and had plenty interaction with David Lee Roth, who was in full “Diamond Dave” mode – talking to the crowd more than any other show of the tour. The crowd (and even the band!) was eating it up. Dave was loose and silly and on a roll, throwing out hilarious one-liners throughout the entire show.

The entire band was absolutely ON FIRE and KICKING ASS, while seemingly having the time of their lives.

Even some celebrities enjoyed themselves…

Scott Ian from Anthrax tweeted these:

“To quote David Lee Roth, “Ladies & Gentlemen, on the guitar, Shreddy Krueger!” Van Halen ruled in Vegas tonight.”

“The Godzilla of guitar tones. Fucking flawless. 15,000 people on their feet for the guitar solo. #bestever”

“I’ve seen Roth Van Halen every tour since VH2. Eddie hasn’t lost a step. If anything he’s even better. And he was all smiles. Inspiring.”

“Yes, Eddie Van Halen’s tone was perfect. Just mind blowingly huge and perfect, and his playing is above all.”

“Band is on fire. They’ll be back soon.”

David Spade tweeted:

Van Halen not Van Hagar. First album changed my life.

Patrick Bertinelli tweeted:

“Wolf Van Halen’s maracas exploding in Vegas last night.”

Best concert of the tour? Many fans have said a resounding YES to that. Watch “Everybody Wants Some”, “And the Cradle will Rock” & “Hot For Teacher” below.

  • LarryLurex70 LarryLurex70 That’s an interesting thing for him to say. When I go see Maiden play, it’s not to hear Dickinson sing. But, he’s always been a hell of a frontman. Kinda like someone else I’m reminded of.
