Sammy Hagar & The Circle Announce New Album, Release Cover Of David Bowie’s ‘Heroes’

by Eric Senich — updated December 14, 2020 Leave a Comment

Sammy Hagar and the Circle will be releasing a brand new album next month.

Due out January 8th, 2021, the 11-track album titled “Lockdown 2020” was recorded remotely during the band’s “Lockdown Sessions,” which Hagar and the Circle launched in March amid the COVID-19 pandemic quarantine.

One of the tracks included is a cover of David Bowie’s 1977 song “Heroes”. You can hear the track above which features Hagar on vocals, Michael Anthony on bass, Jason Bonham on drums and Vic Johnson on guitar. Anthony’s trademark backing vocals can also be heard towards the end of the track.

Hagar and the Circle recorded “Heroes” as one final track, available now as an instant-grat with album pre-orders. All song proceeds will benefit food banks nationwide. “With the addition of ‘Heroes,’ it made sense to help those who are struggling from the effects of COVID-19,” Hagar sid. “It probably wouldn’t have happened without it.”

Sammy Hagar & the Circle, ‘Lockdown 2020’ Tracklist:

1. “Funky Feng Shui”
2. “Won’t Get Fooled Again” (The Who)
3. “Good Enough” (Van Halen)
4. “Three Little Birds” (Bob Marley)
5. “Whole Lotta Rosie” (AC/DC)
6. “For What It’s Worth” (Buffalo Springfield)
7. “Keep a-Knockin'” (Little Richard)
8. “Right Now” (Van Halen)

  • Matthew Matthew Great song. Music is powerful. Toto's Africa on 45, was my first music purchase. Still remember buying it at K-Mart. Everytime I hear it, I'm 11 again.
