Hagar: ‘Thank You Eddie, Thank You To The Fans’

by Eric Senich — updated January 31, 2024 Leave a Comment

Sammy Hagar is feeling thankful for the upcoming Best Of All Worlds tour. So much so, he’s given it a new title.

“I’m calling it the Thank You tour,” Hagar said during a recent interview with AZ Central. “For me it’s thank you. Thank you, Eddie [Van Halen]. Thank you to the fans. Thank you for this wonderful life, being able to do this, because I don’t know how much longer I can do it.”

The Best of All Worlds tour, featuring a setlist made up of mostly of Van Halen songs, includes Hagar, Michael Anthony, Joe Satriani, and Jason Bonham.

Hagar added that, although he’d like to see Alex Van Halen return to the stage for a proper Van Halen tribute, he understands why that may never happen.

“Mike and I, 20 years ago, did a [Van Halen] reunion and it’s been 20 years this year,” said Hagar. “I’m going, ‘I don’t have another 20 years to be waiting on Alex Van Halen,’ who’s the only guy left. So he didn’t want to do it. You know, he, [I] don’t blame him. God bless him.”

The Best of All Worlds tour begins on July 13th in West Palm Beach, Florida. Tickets are on sale now.
