Wolfgang Van Halen says the sophomore Mammoth WVH album is halfway completed, with the rest to be completed after the holidays.
“I’m probably about halfway through it,” Wolfgang recently told Metal Talk. “I got a bunch of stuff recorded before we started on this tour, and then once I go home, I have a little holiday break. But then in January, I’m going to finish it. So it’ll be ready to be released sometime next year.”
As with the debut Mammoth WVH album, Wolfgang will be performing all of the instruments on the next record.
“In the studio, I do everything,” Wolfgang said. “Nine Inch Nails is its own thing in the studio and then live, it’s separate. I think I’ve found a comfortable way how I record albums now, so I’m having a good time doing that.”
After completing the album, Wolfgang and his live Mammoth WVH lineup will kick off a tour with Alter Bridge on January 25th in Tampa, Florida. On April 27th, the band kicks off a series of dates opening for Metallica. That tour is set to run all the way into 2024.
