LISTEN: Unearthed 1991 Australian Radio Interview With Eddie Van Halen [RARE VIDEO INCLUDED]

A rare 1991 interview featuring Eddie Van Halen on an Australian radio station has surfaced.

The interview took place in July of ’91 while Van Halen was rehearsing for their upcoming tour to support the For Unlawful Carnal Knowledge album. Van Halen fan Adam Roach not only uploaded the interview (above) but also included some rare video he filmed of Eddie and his bandmates in both 1998 and 2013.

n the interview Eddie talks about For Unlawful Carnal Knowledge going #1, the addition of producer Andy Johns, his approach to the guitar, the story behind the instrumental track “316”, and much more!

Here’s what Roach wrote in the video description:

Here is an interview I found on a old cassette tape with Eddie Van Halen on triple M radio station in Melbourne, Australia. I believe the interviewer might be Billy Pinnell. The video footage was filmed by myself, Adam Roach, on the 2 occasions I got to see Van Halen in Australia. The first time was when they were in Melbourne for the Van Halen 3 tour with Gary Cherone in 1998. I met him at the meet and greet at the Hard Rock Cafe where the band signed the album while a young Wolfgang Van Halen looked on with his mother Valerie Bertinelli. The second time was in 2013 in Sydney at the Stone Music Festival.
