There may be a few more completed Sammy-era Van Halen songs left in the 5150 vaults, according to Sammy Hagar.
During a recent interview with Ultimate Classic Rock‘s Matt Wardlaw, Hagar said, although there isn’t much, there are still “a few jams” that remain from his time with the band.
One of those songs Hagar cited was a demo recorded during the 5150 sessions titled “I Want Some Action”.
Hagar said he’d be happy to complete the track and make it an official release, but only if asked.
“We could chop that up and I could write the [new] lyrics and that could be a song,” said Hagar. “It would be real easy to finish that and make a song out of it. I’m just, I’m very careful with all of that stuff, because I don’t want to make enemies with anyone in that camp. You know, it’s not my place to jump out and finish a Van Halen song.”

Along with “I Want Some Action” are a few more recordings in the vault, according to Hagar.
“There were two songs that we actually finished, 90% finished, that we never got mixed, and they never made a record,” he said. “One was from Balance, and the other one was from OU812. One was kind of a mid-tempo ballad-y ‘Can’t Stop Loving You’ kind of song. The other one was a heavy ‘Poundcake’ rocker kind of thing. I don’t know if it was just my lyrics or the music just didn’t have that shiny thing that Van Halen had – when every song was great.”
