Wolfgang Van Halen has released the tracklisting, and what could be the album cover (or back cover?) to his upcoming debut album, Mammoth WVH, which is due this spring.

The email includes the following message from Wolfgang: “Hey Gang, thanks for signing up for Mammoth WVH updates. You are now part of the team. We are assuming that the image in the video is actually the album cover. Wolf has not clarified yet if it is, or isn’t. But if it is, we love it! Note that it’s a nod to Van Halen’s debut album cover, with four square photos – one representing the guitar, microphone, drums, and bass – up the image. Of course, on Van Halen’s debut, each member of the four-pice band got his own corner of the cover, but since Wolf is playing all the instruments on his album, this just shows the four instruments.
It’s so Cool that both the album cover, and even the band name pay homage to his fathers band. What an unexpected, and well-thought-out homage.
The Mammoth WVH website states, “First impressions last a lifetime. Wolfgang Van Halen has prepared a lifetime to make his first impression with his solo band Mammoth WVH. The songwriter, vocalist, and multi-instrumentalist worked tirelessly on material that would become his debut album. Playing every instrument and singing each and every note, his music presents a personal and powerful perspective, balancing memorable hooks and tight technicality. As many times as audiences have experienced his talent alongside the likes of Tremonti, Clint Lowery, and of course, Van Halen, Wolfgang prepares to step into the spotlight with his own brand – Mammoth WVH – for the very first time now.
“The name Mammoth is really special to me.” says Wolf. “Not only was it the name of Van Halen before it became Van Halen, but my father was also the lead singer. Ever since my dad told me this, I always thought that when I grew up, I’d call my own band Mammoth, because I loved the name so much. I’m so thankful that my father was able to listen to, and enjoy the music I made. Nothing made me happier than seeing how proud he was that I was continuing the family legacy.”
Below is a quick video posted to the Mammoth WVH YouTube channel. Along with a display of the entire tracklisting is another audio teaser of his new song “You’re To Blame”. Wolfgang has released a total of three audio teaser clips of “You’re To Blame”.
