Fans Launch Podcast Devoted To David Lee Roth

by Eric Senich — updated November 28, 2020 Leave a Comment

For those who feel a little of David Lee Roth ain’t enough we’ve found a podcast just for you.

The DLR Cast, called “The essential podcast by and for fans of original Van Halen singer David Lee Roth”, is hosted by die-hard Roth fans Steve Roth and Darren Paltrowitz.

Along with the latest David Lee Roth news and deep dive discussions are interviews with various notable figures including: Mitch Schneider (Roth’s publicist from 1991-2003), Jesse Harms (Roth’s former keyboardist), author/Van Halen historian Greg Renoff, Gregg & Matt Bissonette (Roth’s former drummer and bassist, respectively) and Steel Panther singer Michael Starr (formerly of VH tribute band the Atomic Punks).

The Van Halen News Desk reached out to the hosts of The DLR Cast to find out what inspired them to launch the podcast.

Darren Paltrowitz: “Regardless of who you think the best Van Halen singer is or was, there is only one ‘Diamond Dave’. A lot of his solo catalog is extremely underappreciated, maybe even as great as Van Halen at its best. So why not pay tribute with other people who get it?”

Steve Roth: “Two fans — not fanboys! — who were always talking about their love for Dave’s solo career (and with VH) thought that there are folks just like them who love to talk about this stuff.”

There are over 15 episodes and counting of The DLR Cast. Listen to ’em and smile HERE.
