A special tribute to Eddie Van Halen will be part of the upcoming 2020 Rock & Roll Hall of Fame Ceremony Special according to a report by Cleveland.com.
The tribute, set to air at 7 p.m. on Saturday Nov. 7th on HBO and HBO Max, will feature multiple guitar legends paying homage to Eddie.
The Eddie Van Halen tribute is part of the Rock Hall special’s “In Memoriam” section, which also honors other rock and roll legends who have died over the past year and a half. That list includes Little Richard, Neil Peart, Ric Ocasek, Ginger Baker and several others.
The 2020 Induction Ceremony Special will celebrate the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame’s Class of 2020: Depeche Mode, The Doobie Brothers, Whitney Houston, Nine Inch Nails, The Notorious B.I.G., T-Rex, and Ahmet Ertegun Award honorees Jon Landau and Van Halen manager Irving Azoff. Van Halen was inducted into the Rock Hall in 2007.
This year’s Rock Hall ceremony was originally set to take place at Cleveland’s Public Hall on May 2nd but was postponed until November due to COVID-19 before being turned into a pre-taped special.
