Here’s a real treat for the ears! Derek Sherinian is lauded around the world for his distinctive “guitaristic” approach to his keyboard style. Watch him perform classic Eddie Van Halen guitar solos on keyboard.

Sherinian’s ivory wizardry of guitar on keyboard is a feat that once witnessed, will leave you speechless. Listen to three keyboard interpretations below. Hopefully, we’ll hear more someday!

“Spanish Fly”:

“Mean Street” Intro:

In the interview below, Sherinian talks about his covers of “Mean Street” and “Spanish Fly.” And about performing at Eddie’s 2006 house party, jamming with Eddie and getting a personal tour of 5150 Studios by the King himself. The thrill ride for Derek continued with Eddie showing Derek VHS tapes of Eddie and Wolf rehearsing for the upcoming reunion tour (the 2007-2008 tour) with David Lee Roth. During this interview, Derek reveals that if Billy Sheehan was not available for the bass duties for Sons of Apollo, Wolf Van Halen was their next choice!

Celebrate the summer months with these iconic Eddie Van Halen Board Shorts! Inspired by Eddie’s legendary striped guitars, they’re available in four color schemes. Wear ’em at the beach, in the backyard, or just lounging around. Available in sizes XS to 3XL.
