Foo Fighters Cover Van Halen/John Lennon Mashup

Remember that clever John Lennon & Van Halen mashup we featured years ago? Well, the Foo Fighters just covered it at their show last night in Brazil! Watch the live performance below.

Mashup artist Mighty Mike mashed-up two rock classics that, on the surface, have nothing in common. Yet, most rock fans say they like it!

John Lennon’s instrumental version of “Imagine” is combined with David Lee Roth’s a cappella vocals from Van Halen’s “Jump,” and the result is a surprisingly seamless glorious fusion of musical polar opposites, fittingly titled “Imagine a Jump.”

The Foo Fighters also tweeted the band practicing the cover earlier that day:

Woodshedding for the summer tour has never felt so good….see you out there….(I’ll learn the words by then, I swear)

Thanks to Mighty Mike for the inspirado. (Oh, and Halen and Lennon, too) pic.twitter.com/VB8x6ipsmT

  • bew5150 bew5150 Not sure, I never watched them. I was LMAO when Dave called him that after 2002 tour debacle. which would be total irony, since he was saying he thought Dave was g@y on the 1978 tour they did...
