Eddie Van Halen attended the ‘I Stand with AIMEE’ Benefit held last night (Nov 17th) at the Federal Bar in North Hollywood, California.
The evening was a fun-filled night benefiting a great social cause. Proceeds went towards SHE-IS, a local non-profit helpingvictims of sexual abuse through the power of dance and the social awareness film AIMEE shedding light on the domestic issue of child sex trafficking.
The AIMEE Movie is a Proof of Concept short film about the child sex trafficking epidemic happening in the United States.
Janie Van Halen was the event planner/coordinator and also am the publicist for the director Lee Whittaker and for the movie. (Hence the headset in all of the pics).
There were dance performances, guest speakers, celebrity appearances, a silent auction, raffles, and cirque performers.
Sexual abuse is a silent epidemic that takes place throughout the United States and the world, creating social havoc for the children, adult survivors, and society. Being educated on this highly prominent issue is the first step to ending child sex trafficking. The more we open our eyes to what’s happening “RIGHT HERE”, the sooner we can stop it. AIMEE will be a social awareness film that brings to light this delicate issue in an innovative and captivating storyline directed by Lee Whittaker.
AIMEE Movie is partnered with SHE-IS an LA based Non-Profit organization dedicated to providing a supportive environment for young girls who have fallen victim to sexual abuse and sex trafficking. They inspire young girls between the ages of 11-18 to re-take control of their body, to overcome feelings of shame, anger, mistrust and betrayal, while reinforcing a new sense of pride in themselves. And they do all this by the healing power of dance.
They have an indiegogo campaign that just went live. Donate for a great cause!
