Van Halen surprised their audience at the Sovereign Center in Reading, PA tonight when they played not one, but two songs that hadn’t been played yet on their “Different Kind Of Truth” tour.
The classic “Jamie’s Cryin'” was played for the first time since the 2007-2008 tour, and the new song “Blood And Fire” also had it’s debut. (The band had previously only played it during tour rehearsals in L.A.).
Fans have been dying to hear “Blood And Fire” live… it is one of the most popular songs from the new album, according to the VHND poll.
Other rare treats were “Romeo Delight”, Women In Love” and “Girl Gone Bad”. All fan feedback from the show so far has been nothing but positive.
Oh, and one more thing… the band actually ran through the Van Halen II scorcher “Light Up The Sky” three times during soundcheck! Hopefully that will make it into the live show sometime soon…
