Jacques Doucet, sportscaster at WAFB-TV in Baton Rouge and VH fanatic, is posting a five-part series this week on “LSU Football & Van Halen – The Best of Both Worlds: Rock Gods, successful/highly maligned replacements and the passionate fans that fight and argue over both.”

It is basically a buildup to this Saturday’s LSU/Alabama game. The premise is this….Nick Saban is David Lee Roth and Les Miles is Sammy Hagar.

We are posting the first three parts below. And here’s links to part 4 & part 5. Enjoy!

PART ONE: THE SCHOOL OF JACQUES

LSU is playing Alabama this week. What a perfect time to finally write this.

There will be no writer’s block. I will promise you that.

Yep, there’s no doubt. Not even a sliver. There are few things I have paid closer attention to during my life than LSU Football and the mighty Van Halen. C’mon Jacques, give us a break (One break, coming up.). Whether that’s cool or embarrassing, these are the facts. From the time I was a little boy until now, the two have sort of been like a religion, an escape, a hobby, my favorite reality show (VH truly gives ‘Jersey Shore’ a run for its’ money. It’s a “Situation” alright) … whatever you want to call it. I picked up on both around the same time. Sometime during the year of 1986, I bought VH’s “5150″ (still my favorite). It certainly wouldn’t be the last. Without shame, I bounced around my room playing a tennis

From GuitarInternational.com: Glam Metal. These two words have had a long and strange journey over the years. 5 Things You Didn’t Know about David Lee Roth

So, in recognition of this fairly exciting development, here [...]

15 Worst Outfits Ever Worn By Rock Stars

from BeatCrave.com: Does anybody remember decadence in rock n’ roll? If you don’t, then good for you. Mixing rock n’ roll with drugs & poontang isn’t the unspoken requisite it used to be, and because of that, fewer ‘rock stars’ dress accordingly (badly) anymore. Regardless, there are still some out there rich enough to look [...]
