This week’s episode of ‘OPRAH: WHERE ARE THEY NOW?’ airing this Saturday, August 20, at 10pm ET//PT on OWN: Oprah Winfrey Network kicks off with its intimate talk with Hagar.
Nearly 12 years after his 2004 Van Halen reunion, Hagar checks in on life post-Van Halen, and the much-mellowed rocker even offers an apology for things he said since the breakup.
“The whole Van Halen issue … I really put that behind me and I’m proud of what we did. So I’ve decided … forgive and forget. I ain’t looking for nothing from nobody … I don’t wanna … I ain’t asking to be, you know … get back in the band again … that’s work! I don’t want to do that, no, no, no! I want to be friends. I want to say, ‘I’m sorry [for] anything bad I’ve said about you.’ ”

Sammy gives a tour of his recording studio, with all his guitars lined up.
He reveals how he got the idea for Cabo Wabo, and how it was his creativity that pushed the cantina, then the tequila into existence.
He talks about his age and where he’s at at this point in his life. He reflects on the passing of David Bowie and Glenn Frey, and says that at this point in his life he “never wants to take an enemy to his grave.”
His wife, Kari, is interviewed with him a bit. They show the gorgeous view from the deck of his house, and Sammy talks about how he and Kari have hiked all over those mountains, and how much peace it brings them to be there.
Back in January of this year, Sammy and Eddie Van Halen traded friendly tweets, but that was the extent of their communication.
