Van Halen’s David Lee Roth was one of the surprise special guests at Saturday Night’s very special concert at the Forum in Los Angeles for Foo Fighter Dave Grohl’s 46th birthday celebration.
Diamond Dave was the very last surprise guest, and belted out “Panama” and “Ain’t Talkin’ ‘Bout Love” with the Foo Fighters! A rare treat, since Roth almost never performs outside Van Halen.
Another big surprise was when David Lee took off his hat to show off his bold new look: his completely shaved head, and full torso tattoo!

Even with all that spectacular talent onstage, it’s very cool to see that VH’s own David Lee Roth has got top billing among the special guests on Rolling Stone, Ultimate Classic Rock, Billboard, TMZ and Blabbermouth, and others!
The show was an “in the round” style performance, which means the band was dead center completely encircled by the audience.
Tickets were only $50, $10 of which was spread amongst a trio of charities: Rock School Scholarship Fund, MusiCares, and Sweet Relief. Tickets went on sale suddenly at 7 p.m. Jan. 7th and sold out immediately.
The gig marks the Foo’s first of 2015. Just a week later, they’ll kick off a massive stadium tour in South America.
