Breaking News, VH fans – Waldo has been found!

We finally found the answer to the one question the whole world wants to know: Whatever happened to Waldo after graduation?

The “Waldo” in this video is actually solo artist/multi-instrumentalist/songwriter Keith Kessinger.

    That’s a mini strat he’s using. They’re actuaaly fun to play, but more for kids who are beginning to learn how to play electric guitar.

    The guy’s probably using it to tribute EVH (“little guitars”), figuring that if he used a stripe guitar E.L.V.H. et al., might forsee a good business opportunity (law suit, LOL).

    BUT yeah! That was the way it was back then, and a helluva a lot more intresting and exciting! To be bombarded with updates, 1/2 assed promo clips, and goofy video’s comes off a little forced and phoney. And trust me, if it was vh doing it, I’d say the same thing. Too much over exposure of a band nowadays just doesnt feel…right. I dont expect you to understand this, but a band should have a little mystery to add to the excitement.

    You need to leave the bedroom once in awhile and get some sun….

    I’m not sure those who see the current VH strategy as great “marketing” are correct. They’re not really marketing anything right now. If they really wanted to get the buzz on (to coin a phrase), they’d put up an untitled sample of music, just 15 seconds would be enough to get the music world freaking out.

    Was DLR saying “Get Ready” for the tour update? We don’t know, because VH never says shit. All we have are second and third hand reports of recording going on. Is there anything confirmed about them actually ‘releasing’ any of this material?

    Worst case scenario: they’re just making music for themselves to drive around L.A. to on a sunny day.

    I don’t blame fans for being pissed off at the lack of news. No, they’re not turning on their favorite band on a dime. Hardly. If they were they wouldn’t be visiting this site regularly, as I do, for information… any information, about a new Van Halen release. It’s been well over a decade of silence from Van Halen. That’s more than any of us would give our significant others in our relationships.

    Van Halen fans have been tested beyond the limits of most fans’ patience and yet still we hope. It’s no small wonder that there’s pissed off fans waiting for any shred of news whatsoever. And they, like me, will rejoice when (if) there’s news of a new release. We’re all expecting SOMETHING, but there’s been little but gossip to substantiate any of it. Until something is officially announced (or denied) then there’s nothing. As far as Ed, Dave, Al and Wolfgang are concerned, there is no news. There are no plans outside an Australian mini tour.

    I don’t expect VH to follow the Chickenfoot route and post an update every time they go to the bathroom, but there comes a time when a tease turns into something more frustrating. I love VH and worship Eddie’s playing, but tell me you “true” fans wouldn’t appreciate some kind of news, some kind of blurb, some kind of short snippet of music to give you something real to hang on to. If you deny it, you’re lying.

    Being a VH fan has never been that difficult for me.
    Kinda have to wonder…why take it so personally?

    Anyone who knows the band’s history, will tell you that VH
    had never said “anything” until it’s a finished product. And I’d like to think that VH learned their lesson the last time it was announced that dave was doing two new songs. Remember that fiasco? The band has been around since 1974 ok?
    They have more then enough history and success to back them up without having to become an internet favourite. For almost 30 years the band did just fine without the internet. I just feel it’s enevitable that VH will succeed no matter what they do. I know this is a new world out there but if there’s a little bit of VH in all of us then why worry?
