Harp Karaoke: Van Halen!
Friday, 20 November 2009
Here’s a chick named Mylle who loves the harp & ’80s rock. “I wore my spandex-ish leopard print leggings for the occasion…”
And here is her doing “Right Now.”

November 20th, 2009 at 12:50 pm
The subtitles, ROFL. That was cool, the harp is a difficult instrument. Talented and a hottie too, you go girl.
November 20th, 2009 at 1:06 pm
very nice. gotta admit none of tha is easy espcialy on a harp
November 20th, 2009 at 1:21 pm
She is a hottie and clearly good at the harp but this was the worst post………..ever!
November 20th, 2009 at 1:38 pm
Eddie shouls put this on CD and try to sell it to us.
Might as well milk the old music as many ways possible.
November 20th, 2009 at 1:38 pm
Very Nice; It’d be interesting to hear it with a REALLY LONG pickup custom-wound by Seymour Duncan mounted on the harp, then broadcast through an old Marshall half-stack…
November 20th, 2009 at 1:41 pm
Well, at least it’s “new” VH music, right?
November 20th, 2009 at 2:05 pm
She has the harp version of the “brown sound”
November 20th, 2009 at 2:07 pm
This girl “gets it”
November 20th, 2009 at 2:15 pm
It is better than listening to Vai.
November 20th, 2009 at 2:15 pm
“Right Now”?
Out of all the vh songs…..she had to do THAT!? UGH!!!!!!
November 20th, 2009 at 3:04 pm
I thougth it was pretty cool. Just shows the influence of VH.
November 20th, 2009 at 4:20 pm
Duck…
Did you listen to the whole thing? She also went into
Ain’t Talkin’ Bout Love. Is that part OK by you?
November 20th, 2009 at 4:29 pm
vh’s influence is unlimited.Good job honey.
November 20th, 2009 at 4:40 pm
Ev’rybody wants some. I want some too. Ev’rybody wants some.
Baby, how ’bout you? I think I’m in love with her!!!!!! Wow. She’s smokin’ Pretty cool stuff too. She’s sexy, I want some!!!!
November 20th, 2009 at 4:45 pm
Beautiful.
Wish it was longer.
Ed would love it.
Because that’s exactly what it’s about.
November 20th, 2009 at 4:57 pm
She needs to be naked….good times, good times.
November 20th, 2009 at 5:05 pm
Yes, beautiful. Thank you.
November 20th, 2009 at 5:20 pm
So cool to see younger people influenced by VH. Yes, she is nice eye candy. But not just a pretty face, very talented too.
Would be cool to hear Women in Love. Probably would sound very close to the original. But I think the ultimate would have to be Spanish Fly. Not sure if she could do it, but that would really be interesting.
November 20th, 2009 at 5:21 pm
She should have striped up the harp eddie van halen style!
November 20th, 2009 at 5:33 pm
I like Tommy Boy’s idea!!!! She’s a sexy little thing!!!!!!
November 20th, 2009 at 6:05 pm
That was ain’t talk’n bout love not right now Right Now.
November 20th, 2009 at 6:07 pm
That was Ain’t Talk’n Bout Love, not Right Now. Right Now wasn’t in there at all unless they changed the video that is posted.
November 20th, 2009 at 6:08 pm
So This Is Love???? Guess it’s better than reading Valerie’s Books……….
November 20th, 2009 at 6:46 pm
Posting people covering VH songs is lame, I don’t care who it is. Sorry.
November 20th, 2009 at 6:49 pm
Okay, I watched the right now and she’s cute. I love her now. Still hate that songs. Worst lyrics ever (next to Dreams)
November 20th, 2009 at 8:45 pm
I would need a girlfriend like her.
November 20th, 2009 at 9:39 pm
I think that it´s really cool that people from different musical tastes are into Van Halen! This woman is just another example of Van Halen´s influence. Another example is the bluegrass album “Struming with thr Devil“ Yes, it was really out there. However, once again it attests to Van Halen vast influence.
Van Halen will continue to weild this inspiration for musicians of different generes (spelling) for years to come.
As I finish writing this post, you can bet that there is somebody somewhere attempting to play a Van Halen song and as the video shows maybe on an insturment other then a guitar.
November 20th, 2009 at 11:17 pm
That was cool … I love the harp.
November 21st, 2009 at 3:28 am
Have you notice the small red Marshall amp?
November 21st, 2009 at 6:00 am
She has some great stuff on her website. Wow… sweet looking woman and musical too!
November 21st, 2009 at 6:03 am
As I go running to the shelter for my mothers little helper please somebody get me a doctor. Somebody give me a shot. Right now- Ed is writting new music. Right now-Dave is writting new lyrics. Right now-wolfie is (hopefully) practicing to be a better stage preformer. Right now-Alex is comming up with a new backbeat and right now I have to go to the bathroom. C ya.
November 21st, 2009 at 6:53 am
Mr Ed, follow the link that says “here” for Right Now…tard Tard.
November 21st, 2009 at 7:02 am
It’s very subtle but you can see her headbanging just a little.
November 21st, 2009 at 9:02 am
Dirty Duck says:
“‘Right Now’? Out of all the vh songs…..she had to do THAT!? UGH!!!!!!”
Yeah, she should have done “Big Bad Bill” or “I’ll Wait”, right? You know…since *everything* they did with Roth was gold. (Can you hear my eyes rolling?)
November 21st, 2009 at 9:17 am
Great Job Mylle. You’re a an awesome inovative musician and beautiful too. All the people bashing you are Coldplay and Hanna Montana fans !!! LOL
November 21st, 2009 at 10:13 am
Awesome! What a great job. Just because it’s Van Halen doesn’t mean it can’t traverse country, bluegrass, harp, or even classical interpretations. Isn’t that what makes great music truly great?
Much rather see this than some guy on YouTube with a fake frankenstein playing to a soundtrack. Thanks for showing us that classic VH is durable enough to be interesting on a classical instrument!
November 21st, 2009 at 11:42 am
Cause something reached out and touched me Now I see that all I want…
The Best of Both Worlds. We got Chickenfoot, now how bout Eddie and Dave, Can we please have the Best of Both Worlds???? Daddy needs a new VAN HALEN album for Christmas!!!!! Come on Eddie, just close your eyes, this can be everything we’ve dreamed!! It’s not work that makes it work, just let the magic do the work for you!!!!!
November 21st, 2009 at 12:29 pm
Rick Pride…
Yeah, man!!!

I have to agree with this. It sure beats a lip sync air guitar performance or a supposed DLR impersonator. Hey Duck, next time veiw the video before you comment … lol.
November 21st, 2009 at 4:09 pm
That was absolutely beautiful…it was pretty cool to hear these familiar pieces interpreted on harp. It reminds me of the first time I heard “Eruption” played by some cat on a distorted violin.
Very cool!
November 21st, 2009 at 4:35 pm
I bet if she put out a tribute album she could get dave to guest on it for jump and jamie’s cryin…….
November 21st, 2009 at 4:35 pm
It was very good though. She is very talented.
November 21st, 2009 at 4:42 pm
Hey Tommy eat me. I didn’t see the link in red and the main title never says what she’s playing. Tard
November 21st, 2009 at 6:45 pm
Sounds like Aint talkin bout love to me!! But she is a cutie!!!
November 21st, 2009 at 8:49 pm
She is very talented, and she picked a good song! ROCK ON!
November 21st, 2009 at 10:43 pm
Good to know there’s a practically never-ending supply of VH “news” thanks to people posting stuff on Youtube.
Perhaps this site should be renamed the If It Contains The Words Van Halen We Call It News Desk.
This kind of stuff is making me long for the old days of weeks without new posts here. At least then it was actually stuff that mattered when something did show up.
November 22nd, 2009 at 9:11 am
Just read the new Guitar World interview with Eddie and Tony. Gotta say, it isn’t sounding too positive regarding a new album any time soon. Eddie has reaaly tried hard to squash the notion…..in this interview anyways. He sounds like he has been reading alot of the negative posts on this site regarding the “fans” never being happy with whatever he does. Remember folks, he is human too, and I for one can’t blame him for being pissed at all the negativity, and saying a big FU to the whole thing. Read the interview…….I came away feeling very sad for some reason.
Regardless, this harp playing really is pretty good!! Not an easy instrument to play, that’s for sure.
November 22nd, 2009 at 9:29 am
” and I for one can’t blame him for being pissed at all the negativity, and saying a big FU to the whole thing. ”
Yeah, he has very right to be pissed at fans. I mean, it’s not like he’s strung ‘em along for 10 years, is it?
November 22nd, 2009 at 10:49 am
“Real fans” will be happy that he is finally healthy and happy.
“Real fans” will understand that the last 10 years have been a rough time for Ed, and I am not excusing his remarks in the past, just realising that he has not had alot of “clarity of mind” until recently.
“Real fans” will voice their concerns, but not in the malicious manner of which I have read many times on this site.
“Real fans” will be happy with what they have already received from Ed over the past 30+ years.
“Real fans” will always hope for more, but will thankful none the less, if there isn’t any more to come.
November 22nd, 2009 at 10:53 am
By the way Karl,
would you stick around at your job if you always tried your best, but was constantly told by the powers that be, that it is never good enough, never fast enough, or just never enough??
I would think you, just like anyone else, would eventually just say screw it, and do whatever makes you happy.
November 22nd, 2009 at 11:27 am
Jeff,
For the kind of $$$ EVH gets out of it, hell yeah I’d stick around.
November 22nd, 2009 at 1:42 pm
if she could play it with her nipples…..now THATS entertainment
November 22nd, 2009 at 1:47 pm
shes good…aint talkin bout love
November 23rd, 2009 at 1:52 am
Give her a round of applause and a A plus!
November 23rd, 2009 at 7:00 am
Dooley:
I know man…I just truly hate the song right now.
It must be those crystal pepsi commercial flashbacks…
November 23rd, 2009 at 10:57 am
Duck…
We’re all VH fans, but in different camps. I like Right Now,
Ed’s keyboards, Sam’s vocals, and yeah the lyrics too. They address feelings of adult angst while facing life’s challenges. Much more cerebral than “she had a drink in her hand she had her toes in the sand…” Although “Beautiful Girls” was good too, just in a much different way. And I liked the crystal Pepsi commercials, too…at the time, I thought “good for them, mainstream recognition at last.
I know, I’m just a sick fuck, huh?
November 24th, 2009 at 6:43 am
Dooley…
Sick? Nah….
You just like what you like….period.
I’m not going to sit here and tell you WHY I cant stand the song. No reason to.
As far as the crystal pepsi commercial? I KNEW there had to be one person who liked it or the drink!
November 24th, 2009 at 9:20 am
Ok “somebody get me a doctor” prescription should read…
a huge dose of real genuine VH from VH!!!
medication should be taken with doobies and beer.
Right now I am so sick of hearing about Chickenfoot and lame covers I might just go see what is happening at the Guns N Roses website. You know you have had it when!!!
November 24th, 2009 at 12:13 pm
A double-shot of Capt. Morgan rum and a crystal Pepsi, bartender!!!
November 24th, 2009 at 4:05 pm
Dooley…
Fuck it! Make it two!
November 25th, 2009 at 11:02 pm
I had a harpist play ‘316′ at my wedding 12 years ago…. I must have been ahead of the time. No longer with the wife though…..hmmmm.
